BROOKVILLE – Joe Galbraith ran his way into the Brookville record book in convincing fashion Friday night rushing for 183 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders 41-7 dismantling of visiting Sharpsville.

Galbraith, who needed just 12 carries and scored on runs of 35 and 15 yards, became Brookville’s all-time career rushing leader. He has 3,050 career rushing yards surpassing Brent Ohr’s previous school record of 2,928.

While it was Galbraith’s night, fellow senior Shane Heschke, the Raiders quarterback, stole the show in the second quarter accounting for three straight Brookville touchdowns before halftime after Sharpsville had tied the score at seven on a 4-yard Marcus Liewellyn touchdown run with 9:22 left in the half.

Heschke broke the tie with a 27-yard scoring pass to Rocky Pearce 1:50 after Liewellyn’s score. Just over two minutes Brookville went to a trick play with Alex Kerr hitting Heschke with a 64-yard scoring strike, and then Heschke added a 7-yard touchdown run before the end of the half giving the Raiders a 27-7 lead at the break.

Heschke finished the night 5-for-12 passing for 109 yards and a touchdown, one catch for 64 yards and a score and six carries for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Brookville added two second half touchdowns.

Galbraith, who started the Brookville scoring with a 35-yard run late in the first quarter, made it 34-7 with a 15-yard run late in the third quarter, and Garrett Spence’s 21-yard scoring run midway through the fourth quarter finished off the scoring.

Brookville outgained Sharpsville 490 yards to 166.

NOTES – Brookville’s win coupled with Moniteau’s loss to Clarion and Brockway’s loss to Port Allegany clinches the No. 2 seed in the District 9 Class AA playoffs for the defending champion Raiders … Brookville closes out the regular season by hosting Clarion at 7 p.m. Friday night.
