QUESTION & ANSWER |
Q:
|
For
the first time in 30 years, Coudersport had a new head coach with Brendon Hathaway
taking over for Paul Simcoe. How has the transition gone? How are the coaches
different? How are they alike? |
A: |
Coach Hathaway was an assistant under Coach
Simcoe for a few years, and it has helped the transition go smoothly, as we all knew
what Coach Hathaway was expecting coming into the season. The coaching staff is still
learning the little things that Coach Simcoe knew. Both Coach Simcoe and Coach
Hathaway's staffs stress the little things on the field and are very disciplined
coaches.

Q:
|
You've been playing a lot since your sophomore
year. What has the experience of playing a key role on so many success teams these
last three years meant to you?
|
A: |
It's quite an honor to every week walk on the
field with Coudy across my chest. If played with a lot of great players and it's an
awesome feeling looking back at all of the memories. Most of all the coaches and the
community have made it a great experience for me.

Q:
|
Your
role has changed some this year. You have spent time at both quarterback and wide
receiver and many times during the same game. Is the transition between the two
positions an easy one, or does it take some time getting use to? What are the
challenges you face each week in practice knowing you could be called upon to play
both roles? |
A: |
At the beginning it was tough. My freshman year I
played a lot of quarterback so it was just getting back into the swings of things was
the hardest part. Going into every week I know I am going to be in numerous
positions. I know them all pretty well and I just try to work hard and get better
every week.

Q:
|
District 9 Class A seems wide open this year with
a handful of teams all having a shot at the title. You have already lost two close
games to a couple of those teams - Cameron County and Curwensville. What does
Coudersport have to do come playoff time to run the table and win the District 9
title?
|
A: |
We
have to take it one game at a time. We have to play all 48 minutes of every game form
here on out. The biggest thing is we all have to believe in each other and become
more of a team, and play with unselfishness. |
|
Q:
|
What
are your plans after high school? |
A: |
Attend a 4 year college, and major in biology or
forestry. |
