DISTRICT 9 PLAYOFF FIELD SET

Brackets to be released early next week

PUNXSUTAWNEY – With Brookville’s 48-27 win over Punxsutawney and Bradford’s 28-27 loss to Corry Friday night, the District 9 playoff fields are now set.

Brookville (5-5) claims the fourth and final spot in the D9 Class AA field, while St. Marys (6-4) gets the second and final spot in the D9 Class AAA field despite losing 29-6 to Clearfield.

A quick look at the playoff fields follows. Times and dates will be announced by District 9 early next week.

CLASS A (8 teams)

First Round

8 Keystone (3-7) at 1 Cameron County (9-1)

7 Clarion (6-4) at 2 Redbank Valley (7-2)

6 Elk County Catholic (6-3) at 3 Curwensville (7-2)

5 Johnsonburg (6-3) at 4 Coudersport (7-2)

CLASS AA (4 teams)

Semifinals

4 Brookville (5-5) vs. 1 Moniteau (9-1) at a site to be determined

3 Kane (8-2) vs. 2 Karns City (9-1) at a site to be determined

CLASS AAA (2 teams)

Championship game

2 St. Marys (6-4) vs. 1 Clearfield (8-2) at a site to be determined

CLASS AAAA (5 teams combined with District’s 6, 8, 9, 10)

Preliminary round if Altoona opts in (Central Mountain bye if not)
