SHIPPENVILLE – Moniteau’s James Shope is the eighth RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for the 2009 season after leading the Warriors to an upset win over previously unbeaten Karns City Friday night.

Shope ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries in Moniteau’s 22-21 win over its archrival. Not only did it hand Karns City its first loss of the season, the victory also kept Moniteau’s District 9 Class AA playoff hopes very much alive. Shope had little choice but to carry the load considering starting quarter Kyle Armagost missed the game.

Joining Shope in being honored this week are 15 players on the RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com Honor Roll.

The RRR Roadhouse located in the Clarion Mall is in its third year of being the sponsor of the Player of the Week award. More information on the RRR Roadhouse, which also provides catering services for any occasion, can be found at www.rrrroadhouse.com or by calling them at 814-227-2000.
