BROCKWAY – Two fourth-quarter touchdowns, including a go-ahead 27-yard run by quarterback Jason Blose with 3:40 left in regulation gave the Cameron County Red Raiders a come-from-behind 28-20 win over the Brockway Rovers Friday night.

The Red Raiders (3-0) intercepted Brockway quarterback Derek Buganza three times. The final one, by Blose himself, set up his own TD run. Ryan Grimm caught a two-point conversion pass from Vince Summers to put the Red Raiders up 22-20 with 3:40 remaining.

Cameron County added another Blose TD run with 2:42 to set the final score.

Buganza completed 24 of 43 passes for 285 yards. He threw one TD pass to Mike Vervoort in the third quarter to get an active second half of scoring started. Vervoort caught 12 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns.

The Red Raiders led 7-0 at the half on a Tanner Johnson 66-yard run in the first quarter and went up 14-6 21 seconds after Buganza’s TD pass on Andy Lippert’s 72-yard yard run.

The Rovers went up 20-14 with two straight scores. Tom Vervoort scored on a 2-yard run at the end of the third quarter and Mike Vervoort hauled in a 67-yard TD pass from Chris Marshall with 9:59 left in the game.

Brockway did outgain Cameron County, 353-339, but turned the ball over six times compared to the Red Raiders’ two lost fumbles. Lippert rushed for 135 yards on 13 carries and Blose rushed for 113 yards on 21 attempts, completing just one pass for six yards on six attempts.
