CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville put its AML-South title hopes on the legs of senior Jed Greslick, and Greslick delivered in the form of 188 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries to lead the Golden Tide to a 15-0 win over Kane and the AML-South crown Friday night.

Both of Greslick’s touchdown runs (7 and 3 yards) came in the first half, and Curwensville’s defense did the rest holding Kane to 165 total yards of offense.

With the victory, which came over the two-time defending AML-South and AML Champion Wolves (5-4), Curwensville (7-2) finishes in a tie with Brockway for first place in the division but claims the division crown thanks to a 32-19 win over the Rovers. It’s the Golden Tides first AML-South title since winning the third of three in a row in 2006, and it’s the sixth AML-South title for Curwensville in its 11 years in the division.

Curwensville will now try for its third AML Title either Friday or Saturday when it hosts AML-North champion Cameron County (9-0), which is playing in its third straight AML Title game but is looking for its first AML Title since 1999. The Red Raiders knocked off the Golden Tide 19-18 in overtime at Cameron County earlier this season.

Friday night, Greslick staked Curwensville to an 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter when he scored from seven yards out and then ran for the 2-point conversion. He then extended the lead to 15 at halftime when he scored on a 3-yard run with three seconds left in the half and added the extra point for good measure.
