COUDERSPORT 35, RIDGWAY 7

COUDERSPORT – Tim McCusker threw two touchdown passes to Dirk Cowburn and ran for a third score to pace Coudersport to a 35-7 win over visiting Ridgway Friday night.

McCusker finished the evening 5 of 8 passing for 79 yards while also throwing an interception to go with his two scoring passes and ran eight times for 88 yards including a 21-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Cowburn, in his second game of the year, added four catches for 70 yards including scoring catches of 14 and five yards in the first half and also ran four times for 22 yards.

Creighton Hayes added a 1-yard touchdown run for the Falcons (3-1 overall, 3-1 AML North), and Jordan Bennett returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter helping Coudersport build a 28-0 halftime lead.

Ridgway’s lone touchdown came on a 21-yard scoring pass from back-up quarterback Jordan Lundin to Sam Skraba in the fourth quarter. Lundin was in the game because starter Josh Mitchell suffered an injury earlier in the game.

With the loss, the Elkers fall to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the AML South.

JOHNSONBURG 26, SMETHPORT 13

JOHNSONBURG – Andrew Nortum threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Joe Holmberg, to lead Johnsonburg to a 26-13 win over visiting Smethport Friday night.

Nortum completed 14 of 26 passes – he did throw one pick – with Holmberg catching eight passes for 163 yards. Tony DeCecchis added a pair of catches for 69 yards including a 16-yard scoring catch for the Rams (2-2 overall, 2-2 AML South)

Jarod Hughes ran seven times for 107 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown run for Smethport, while Tony Farrell had 16 carries for 66 yards and a score. Hughes added 128 yards passing on 6 of 11 with an interception, as Andrew Paulik caught four passes for 115 yards for the Hubbers (0-4, 0-4 AML North) while also snagging an interception on defense.

TYRONE 23, CLEARFIELD 14

TYRONE – Tyrone scored 14 unanswered second-half points to erase a five-point halftime deficit and avenge a loss to Clearfield last season by downing the Bisons 23-14 Friday night in Tyrone.

Clearfield (2-2 overall, 1-1 MAC Nittany) led 14-7 at halftime thanks to a 36-yard Trey Campman touchdown run and a 15-yard scoring pass from Curtis Frye to Campman that saw Campman make a great catch in the end zone on a ball thrown behind him while he was being hit. The touchdown pass came with just 44 seconds left in the first half and gave the Bisons the halftime lead.

But Tyrone (3-1, 2-0) took over in the second half and shutout out the Bisons high-scoring offense.

Campman finished the game with six catches for 58 yards while also rushing six times for 80 yards, while Frye was 11 of 25 passing for 131 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

BRADFORD 42, WARREN 7

WARREN – Pay Pascarella ran 16 times for 242 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bradford to a 42-7 win at Warren Friday night.

Pascarella, who also added two catches for 19 yards, scored on runs of 46, 65, 69 and 3 yards while helping the Owls (4-0) outgain Warren 441 to 207 including 422 to 45 on the ground.

Mark Havers added 17 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown for Bradford, while Cody Coats ran eight times for 66 yards and a score.

Cody Nuzzo was once again a perfect 6-for-6 on extra point for the Owls.

Warren’s lone score came on a 23-yard pass from Matt Stapleford to T.J. Latimer that tied the game at seven. Stapleford was 16 of 22 passing for 162 yards and a touchdown while running 16 times for 10 yards. Cody Bupp had seven catches for 49 yards, while Latimer had three for 29.

Bradford led 28-7 at halftime.  

PORT ALLEGANY 15, KANE 14

KANE – Seth Lowery’s 2-yard touchdown run coupled with Camrin Stuckey’s two-point conversion run on a fake extra-point play lifted visiting Port Allegany to a 15-14 win over Kane Friday night.

Lowery had a monster game for the Gators (3-1 overall, 3-1 AML North) rushing 34 times for 209 yards and two touchdowns while adding 10 tackles on defense and kicking an extra point. He also scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter that gave Port Allegany a 7-0 lead at the time.

Kane (2-2, 2-2 AML South) tied the game at seven at the half when it blocked a punt and returned it 19 yards for a touchdown. The Wolves then went ahead 14-7 in the third quarter on a 1-yard Alex Anderson touchdown run.  

Matt Bodamer added a 7 of 16 passing night for 82 yards including going 7 of 10 in the final three quarters, while Ryan Bodamer had 14 tackles and a sack on defense.

Port Allegany outgained Kane 314-131 on the night.  

CAMERON COUNTY 19, CURWENSVILLE 18, OT

EMPORIUM — The Cameron County Red Raiders avoided a home loss to visiting Curwensville by pulling out a 19-18 overtime win over the Tide Friday night.

Jason Blose threw a 9-yard TD pass to Vince Summers in overtime and Hunter Bardo added the game-winning point-after kick to help keep the Red Raiders unbeaten at 4-0 while Curwensville fell to 2-2.

The Golden Tide had the ball first in overtime and scored when Sam Gardner threw a 7-yard strike to Alex Holland. The point-after kick, however, was blocked, helping set up the Red Raiders’ game-winning score and point-after kick.

The rest of the game’s scoring all happened in the first half. Cameron County went up 14-0 on two big plays. Blose connected with Andy Lippert on an 85-yard TD pass at the end of the first quarter. Lippert then dashed 54 yards for another score in the second quarter.

But Curwensville’s Holland returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and Gardner scored on a 7-yard run with 55 seconds left in the half to tie the game.

Lippert rushed for 94 yards on 12 carries for Cameron and Blose completed 5 of 16 passes for 125 yards. Jed Greslick rushed for 107 yards on 26 carries for the Tide.

DuBOIS 38, INDIAN VALLEY 21

DuBOIS —  Running back Cam Kelly and quarterback Josh Means each ran for 100 yards and combined for five touchdowns as the DuBois Beavers beat visiting Indian Valley, 38-21, Friday night.

Means rushed for 159 yards on 21 carries and completed 6 of 9 passes for 104 yards. He scored on runs of 24 and 1 yards. Kelly, meanwhile, gained 126 yards on 15 carries and scored on three runs of 3, 30 and 20 yards. Shawn Newpher added a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

DuBois (3-1 overall, 1-0 MAC-Seven Mountains) led 19-7 at intermission and took a 31-13 lead into the fourth quarter. The Beavers outgained the Warriors (1-3, 0-1), 451-256. Two of Indian Valley’s scores came on long pass plays. Will Long threw a 66-yard TD pass to Aaron Reed in the third quarter and Jordan Bell caught a 60-yard scoring pass from Cody Heane in the fourth quarter.

KARNS CITY 35, CLARION-LIMESTONE 7

STRATTANVILLE – Aaron Markle ran 13 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns to lift Karns City (4-0 overall, 4-0 KSAC) to a 35-7 win at Clarion-Limestone Friday night.

Markle scored on runs of 10, 13 and 2 yards, and was helped by quarterback Dylan Hipple, who was 10 of 17 passing for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Dan Miller led C-L (1-3, 1-3) going 13 of 27 for 166 yards and a touchdown while also being picked off three times. Jonathan Pezzuti had three catches for 79 yards including a 60-yard scoring catch, while Zach Kemmer caught six balls for 50 yards.

KEYSTONE 42, UNION 8

RIMERSBURG – Dan Reed threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth to help Keystone to a 42-8 win at Union Friday night.

Reed, who threw for 278 yards, hit Ben Marchand with scoring tosses of 83 and 25 yards and B.J. Seyler with one of 26 yards while also rushing for a 1-yard score. He finished the game 13 of 18 and did toss an interception. Marchand was his favorite target catching five balls for 149 yards. Brett Zuck added three catches for 51 yards and returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown. Zach Smith, who ran for 50 yards, also scored on the ground for the Panthers (3-1 overall, 3-1 KSAC).

Zach Traister’s 80-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter kept Union (1-3, 1-3) from being shutout. Thanks to the run, Traister had a game-high 133 yards rushing on 13 carries.

MONITEAU 57, A-C VALLEY 6

FOXBURG – Kyle Armagost had a game in one quarter throwing two touchdown passes and running for three more in the first quarter to lead Moniteau to a 57-6 win over winless A-C Valley.

Moniteau (2-2 overall, 2-2 KSAC) led 41-0 at the end of the first quarter.

James Shope added six carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns for Moniteau, while Michael Orrvick once again was the lone A-C Valley player to reach the scoreboard catching a 26-yard pass from Brian Jackson. Justin Loll did rush 15 times for 93 yards while catching two passes for 14 for the Falcons (0-4, 0-4), who dropped their 35th straight decision.
