Class A Teams/Class AA Teams/Class AAA Teams

HARRISBURG – Fourteen District 9 football players were recently named to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters All-State teams.

District 9 has six first-team selections and eight second-team choices for the teams, which take the place of the Associate Press All-State teams that weren’t done this year.

Class A has the most selections with six, including three first-team choices, Class AAA has four choices including two first-team selections and Class AA has four honorees including one first-team choice.

The first-team selections from Class A are Keystone wide receiver Brett Zuck, Clarion defensive end T.J. Armstrong and Elk County Catholic punter David Bojalad. They are joined on the Class A team by second-team selections Jed Greslick (RB, Curwensville), Dan Reed (Offensive athlete, Keystone) and Bubba Rue (LB, Clarion).

The Class AAA first-team choices are St. Marys linebacker Sean Sadosky and Punxsutawney defensive back Braedon Pennington, while Clearfield wide receiver Trey Campman and Bradford punter Cody Nuzzo are second-team selections.

Moniteau's Jacob Boy was the lone Class AA first-team selection earning honors at defensive athlete. Three Class AA players are all second-team choices including Brockway quarterback Derek Buganza, Brockway wide receiver Mike Vervoort and Karns City defensive end Jake Wagner.
