DISTRICT 9 CLASS A PLAYOFFS

Maximum number of teams: 8 (4 AML, 2 KSAC, 2 At-Large)

Selection Process for AML four automatic bid teams:

Top Team: Based on league championship game or on best record of 9 league games if championship game is won by a Class AA team

Second-Fourth teams: Based on second to fourth highest winning percentage in 9 league games (if team has best winning percentage in league games but loses in AML Title game to another Class A team then that team will get one of the second through fourth spots awarded to AML).  

Selection Process for KSAC two automatic bid teams:

Top Team: Based on highest winning percentage in 9 league games

Second team: Based on second highest winning percentage in 9 league games

Selection process for two At-large bids:

These two bids can go to any Class A team regardless of conference

1. Winning percentage – TOTAL number of games played dived into the total number of games won

2. Head-to-head completion

3. PIAA Ranking System

4. Coin toss

Seeding process for No. 1 and No. 2 seeds

The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will be determined between the top AML team and the top KSAC team

1. Winning percentage – TOTAL number of games divided into the total number of games won.

Seeding process for No. 3-8 seeds

1. Winning percentage – TOTAL number of games played divided into the total number of games won.

NOTES:

1. Only games scheduled prior to the first practice date of the 2009 season will be considered.

2. If a school does not play a game or a number of games or does not complete the season, the game or games not played will be considered a forfeit win for their opponent. The results of the games played prior to the team not playing will stand
