conditions very muddy, the Bisons limited Mifflin County
to just 75 yards of offense while intercepting
three passes and recovering four of its six
fumbles.
Bisons quarterback Curtis Frye threw and ran for
touchdowns in a somewhat limited offensive night for
Clearfield as well. The Bisons

SHEFFIELD 40,
JOHNSONBURG 0 JOHNSONBURG – Sheffield quarterback
Shaquan Wright ran for two touchdowns and passed for
another to lead the Wolverines to a 40-0 shutout of the
host Johnsonburg Rams Friday night. It marked the most points in a game
for Sheffield since beating Otto-Eldred 44-6 Oct. 20,
2001. That was also the only other time in school
history the Wolverines Mercy Ruled a team. Wright scored on runs of 2 and 7
yards and threw a 10-yard pass to Kwante Johnson, all of
them coming in the first half that saw Sheffield (1-3)
build a 34-0 lead by halftime. Johnson’s 75-yard kick
return to start the second half wrapped up the scoring
and started the PIAA’s Mercy Rule running clock. The Wolverines, who had been
outscored 97-6 on the season coming into the game, also
limited Johnsonburg (0-4) to minus-31 yards of offense,
which included minus-42 yards rushing and 11 yards
passing. Wright and Johnson had two of Sheffield’s three

14-point fourth quarter comeback by the Hubbers. Smethport QB Kevin Lord rushed from
six yards out early in the fourth that, coupled with
Dario Caminite's extra points, made it 14-7. Lord went through the air on the
ensuing Hubber drive, hooking up with Clay Schuler on a

five carries. Sophomore teammate Zach Vroman
