PORT ALLEGANY 19,
SHEFFIELD 6 PORT ALLEGANY - Port Allegany QB
Matt Bodamer surpassed 5,000 career yards passing as the
Gators moved to 6-1 with a 19-6 win over Sheffield. Nick Bonavita's three-yard TD run in the first quarter gave Sheffield (2-5) an early 6-0 lead. Field conditions were sloppy,
limiting both offenses to under 200 total yards. Bodamer
completed 5 of 13 passes for 70 yards, while Neal
finished with 66 yards on 14 carries. Kalil Slaughter
led Sheffield with 70 yards on 10 carries.
MONITEAU 45,
PUNXSUTAWNEY 6 WEST SUNBURY — Quarterback Kyle
Armagost ran for three touchdowns and led the Moniteau
Warriors to a 45-6 rout of visiting Punxsutawney Friday
night. The Warriors’ win clinched the Keystone Shortway
Athletic Conference’s Large School Division title with a
perfect 4-0 record. Armagost scored on runs of 1, 1 and
25 yards as the Warriors (7-0) scored the game’s final
37 points on five unanswered touchdowns after taking an
8-6 lead into the second quarter. He finished with 97
yards on 15 carries. Teammate Dustin Geagan rushed for
119 yards on 12 carries and scored the team’s other two
touchdowns on runs of 4 and 25 yards. Armagost also completed 5 of 10
passes for 124 yards. Armagost and Geagan each went over
1,000 yards for the season in passing and rushing
respectively. Punxsutawney (2-5) scored its only
touchdown on Garrett Zimmerman’s 43-yard pass to Clayton
Dale. He completed 6 of 13 passes for 67 yards. The
Warriors outgained the Chucks, 342-71.
KANE 42,
JOHNSONBURG 7 JOHNSONBURG — Jonah Smith scored
four touchdowns to lead the Kane Wolves to a 42-7 rout
of the Johnsonburg Rams Friday night. Smith ran for 106 yards on 18
carries, scoring on dashes of 4, 1 and 5 yards while
catching a 29-yard pass from Sean Jordan for another
touchdown. Jordan, who completed all six of
his passes for 80 yards, also threw two other TD passes
to Will Hullings and Justin Wright for 23 and 10 yards
respectively. The Wolves (4-3) limited the Rams
(0-7) to just three yards of offense, including minus-4
yards rushing on 26 attempts and seven yards passing.
The Wolves intercepted Rams quarterback Jaryd
Servidea, twice by Andrew Pierson.
CURWENSVILLE 36,
RIDGWAY 16 RIDGWAY — Alex Holland led a
Curwensville Tide second-half rally and went over the
5,000-yard rushing milestone in the Tide’s
come-from-behind 36-16 win at Ridgway Friday night. Holland rushed for a whopping 386
yards on 47 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs
of 1, 3, 67 and 54 yards, the last three during the
Tide’s unanswered 28 points in the second half. Holland upped his career rushing
total to 5,145 yards as he became just the second
running back in District 9 history to go over 5,000
yards. He recently passed Brockway’s Aaron Cantafio
(4,694 yards) on the all-time list. Another Curwensville
running back, Nick Sipes, is the all-time leader with
5,963 yards. Curwensville (5-2) got its only
other touchdown on Josh Greslick’s 52-yard interception
return as time expired. Ridgway (4-3) scored all of its
points in the second quarter. Quarterback Jordan Lundin
threw a 26-yard pass to Aaron Sorge, Eric Matheson
kicked a 32-yard field goal and Kyle Caggiano recovered

two long plays, including a 77-yard pass from Tyler
Kepple with 7:25 left in the game to lift the Karns City
Gremlins to a 24-21 win over the visiting Brookville
Raiders Friday night. The Gremlins (4-3) had to withstand
two Raiders drives deep into Karns City territory late
in the game, but held on for the win. The Gremlins
recovered a Raiders fumble at the 5 with 4:55 remaining.
Then with 15 seconds on the clock, Raiders kicker
Cameron Yard’s 27-yard field goal attempt was booted
into the Karns City line. Toy led the Gremlins with 101 yards
rushing on 14 carries, scoring on a 60-yard run in the
first half. Quarterback Brady Ellenberger scored the
Gremlins’ other touchdown on a 30-yard in their second
possession of the game. Perhaps the difference in the
evenly played game came when Adam Garing kicked a
30-yard field goal to open the scoring in the second
half, giving the Gremlins a 17-14 lead. For Brookville (3-4), quarterback
Steven Kennedy had a big game, rushing for 171 yards on
16 carries. He also completed 10 of 21 passes for 115
yards and two touchdowns on a 16-yarder to Zach Vroman
in the second quarter and a 27-yarder to Derek
Shattenberg in the third quarter. Defensively, he picked
off an Ellenberger pass in the end zone on the first
possession of the game. Brodie Zacherl ran for 78 yards on
nine carries, scoring the Raiders’ first touchdown on a
3-yard run.
COUDERSPORT 24,

yards on 25 carries and scored on runs of 20 and one
yard in the helping the Falcons (7-0) break open an 8-7
halftime lead. Smethport (1-6) led 7-0 late in the
first half when Tim McCusker hit Alex Hutcheson with a
6-yard touchdown pass as time expired and then ran in
the two-point conversion to give Coudersport an 8-7
halftime lead. Freeman’s two second-half scores
coupled with two-point conversions put the Hubbers away. Karl Lightner scored on a
first-quarter touchdown run for Smethport.
DUBOIS 27, ST.
MARYS 12 DuBOIS — Sean Sleigh threw two
touchdown passes to Garrett Miles and Garrett Brown
rushed for 153 yards on 15 carries to lead the DuBois
Beavers to a 27-12 win over visiting St. Marys Friday
night. Sleigh completed 13 of 22 passes
for 186 yards with his TD passes to Miles covering 14
and 52 yards. Their second connection with 3:45 left in
the third quarter put the Beavers up 21-12. Brown

16-yard run. Joe Morrison scored the Beavers’

run and Brandon Bailey scored Redbank Valley’s only
touchdown in the second half on a 4-yard run. Lee rushed for 120 yards on 10
carries while Strothers rushed for
83 yards on eight attempts. Dougherty completed 3
of 6 passes for 105 yards. For C-L (1-6), both touchdowns came
in the second half on quarterback Christian Bakewell’s
76-yard pass to
Jake Neiswonger and Kyle Robertson’s 1-yard run.
CAMERON COUNTY
18, OTTO-ELDRED 6 EMPORIUM – Cameron County scored 13
unanswered fourth-quarter points to beat visiting
Otto-Eldred 18-6 Friday night. Zach Austin’s 5-yard touchdown run
following a 47-yard punt return to the Otto-Eldred
5-yard by Tucker Britton broke a 6-all tie, and Nick
Stuckey added a 4-yard touchdown run to put the game
away. Stuckey’s 6-yard run got Cameron
County (2-5) on the board, while Lucas Kerr scored on a
10-yard run for the Terrors (1-6). Austin led the Red Raiders with 101
yards rushing on 15 carries and the touchdown.
BRADFORD 21,

for 256 yards of offense and two touchdowns, as Bradford
beat visiting Warren 21-6 Friday night at Parkway Field. Britton rushed 22 times for 177
yards and scored on a 12-yard run and also caught a
79-yard touchdown pass from Matt Yurkewicz. Also scoring for the Owls was Dan
Rinfrette on a 17-yard run. Bradford’s defense also played a
big role in the win stopping Warren twice inside the Owl
5-yard line, once in each half.
UNION 15,
KEYSTONE 6 KNOX -
Union defeated Keystone 15-6 in a muddy battle that
allowed for little offensive gain Friday night at
Keystone.
Taylor Smith threw for a pair of touchdown passes for
Union (4-3 overall, 2-2 KSAC Small School Division)
while going 7 of 13 for 113 yards. He hit Aaron Graham
with a 61-yard screen pass and also threw an 8-yard fade
pass for Brody Pollock. Pollock added a pair of key
interceptions for the Golden Knights.
Union rushed for 115 yards behind the combined effort of
Austin Davis, Mikey Harris and Smith while holding
Keystone (2-5, 2-2) to 62 yards on the ground and 71 in
the air.
Tanner Hannold scored the Panthers lone touchdown on a
31-yard run.
The victory gives Union its second straight four-win
season after the Golden Knights won just eight combined
games from 2003-2009. One more win and Union will secure
its first .500 regular season since going 5-4 in 1997.
