KARNS CITY — Wyatt Everetts scored three touchdowns and helped lead the Karns City Gremlins to a 34-14 win over St. Marys in the District 9 Class AA semifinals Friday night.

The top-seeded Gremlins (8-3) meet Kane in the championship game this week at a site and time to be announced, seeking their first crown since winning their third straight in 2009.

Everetts ran for touchdowns of 16 and 7 yards in the first and second quarters respectively and he caught a 47-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Kepple to open the scoring in the second half, giving the Gremlins a 28-6 lead. He rushed for 50 yards on six carries and caught three passes for 88 yards.

Tristan Rhoades opened the game with a 79-yard kick return for a touchdown. He led the Gremlins with 67 yards on just five carries. Kepple threw a second TD pass to Dakota Mohney on an 8-yard completion with 9:26 left in the game to close the scoring. He completed 9 of 12 passes for 142 yards.

Junior Alex Feldbauer scored both touchdowns for St. Marys (5-6) on runs of 2 and 5 yards in the first and third quarters. He ran for 109 yards on 24 carries, finishing his season with over 1,700 yards, a single-season record for the Dutch.
