GAME NOTES:   This is a rematch of last year’s 2/3 semifinal game which the Gremlins won in convincing fashion 42-14 … Karns City is looking to win the District 9 Class AA title for the third straight year … Last season the Gremlins beat Moniteau 42-9 in the title game. They also beat the Warriors 50-14 two seasons ago … Karns City comes into the game having lost two of its last three games including a 55-9 lost to Wilmington, who is ranked fifth in the state in Class AA by PA Football News … Kane comes in after a week off following back-to-back losses to Curwensville and Brockway … The Wolves are in their second season in Class AA after winning the District 9 Class A Title in 2007.

GAME NOTES: Moniteau comes into the playoffs winners of three out of its last four games, including a 22-21 win over previously unbeaten Karns City in Week 8 ... The Warriors have been knocked out of the playoffs each of the last three seasons by Karns City, including 42-9 in the title game a year ago … Brockway comes into the game following a 56-40 shootout loss to Keystone last week … The Rovers are making their first playoff appearance since 2007 when they were defeated 62-28 by Karns City in the semifinals … The last time Moniteau and Brockway met in the playoffs was in the 2005 Class AA championship game, a game which the Rovers won 22-20 … The two teams also met in the semifinals in 2003, a game which Brockway won 20-12.

Included in that yardage total is Buganza’s state record 594 yard performance against Otto Eldred in Week 4, shattering the old record set of 511 yards set by Downingtown East’s Pat Devlin in 2003 … Buganza also ranks third in District 9 history in career passing yards with 5,995 and needs 94 yards to tie Kroell for second all-time in D9. Buganza has thrown 56 career touchdown passes. Kroell holds the D9 record for TD passes with 79 … Vervoort, Shaffer, and Freemer rank 1st, 4th and 5th respectively in receiving yards in District 9 … Galluzzi ranks 3rd in District 9 with 123 tackles and K Philip Esposito lead all District 9 kickers in points with 46 … The numbers point toward Buganza having another big game, as Moniteau has allowed a combined 469 yards and 6  passing TDs in losses to Keystone QB Dan Reed and Punxsutawney QB Logan Weaver, who rank 2nd and 5th in the district behind Buganza in passing yards … The Rovers lead District 9 in scoring at 39.1 ppg.
