SOFTBALL

OTTO-ELDRED 13, PORT ALLEGANY 1, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Riley Raught went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and five RBIs to lead visiting Otto-Eldred to a 13-1, five-inning win over Port Allegany.

Harlee VanScooter added a pair of doubles and two RBIs while going 2-for-3, while Haylee Frederick went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs to help the Lady Terrors stay unbeaten at 10-0.

Bree Garzel went 3-for-3 with a double for Port Allegany, which fell to 0-3. Also for the Lady Gators, Tori Tanner and Jade Evans were both 1-for-2.

Abby Wolfe got the win allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out nine.

CLARION 16, FOREST AREA 1, 4 INNINGS

CLARION, Pa. – Carly Best, Jordan Best and Ava Kiser combined to drive in 10 runs to lead Clarion to a 16-1, four-inning win over visiting Forest Area at Paul A. Weaver Park.

Carly Best hit a pair of home runs while going 3-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and four RBIs. Her younger sister, Jordan, was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs and Kiser was 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBIs. Payton Simko added a pair of walks, a single and three runs scored with Brenna Campbell chipping in a double, two walks and two runs scored.

Catelynne Boehme had a double and a run scored for Forest Area.

Kait Constantino got the win going three innings allowing one hit while striking out six. She also 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

CLEARFIELD 9, HOLLIDAYSBURG 4

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Winning pitcher Emma Hipps helped herself with the bat going 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI to lift visiting Clearfield to a 9-4 win over Hollidaysburg.

Hipps also went the distance allowing four runs, three earned, while striking out 13.

Kyra Mollura was also 1-for-2 with three RBIs for the Lady Bison.

BASEBALL

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 13, CURWENSVILLE 0, 5 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Led by two doubles by Noah Bloom and a double and a triple from Domenic Toretti, DuBois Central Catholic had eight extra-base hits in a 13-0, five-inning win over visiting Curwensville.

Bloom was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Toretti was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

In addition, Peter Downer was 1-for-1 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs for the Cardinals with Tyler McIntosh going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBIs, Brandon Walker going 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs and Justin Miknis going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.

Anthony Kness got the win going five innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out six.

CLEARFIELD 6, HUNTINGDON 4

HYDE, Pa. – Nathan Barr went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI to help Clearfield to a 6-4 win over visiting Huntingdon.

Hayden Williams was 1-for-3 and drove in a run while adding a run scored for the Bison. Cade Walker singled and had a pair of RBIs.

Draven Zook paced the Bearcats with a double and a triple with a pair of runs scored while Zach Peck went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Eli Glass got the win striking out five and giving up three runs on five hits in 4 ⅓ innings for Clearfield.

Hunter Dixon picked up the save going 2 ⅔ innings allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Race Ritchey struck out seven and allowed one hit and four runs in the loss for Huntingdon.

MONITEAU 6, REDBANK VALLEY 3

BUTLER, Pa. – Jared Lominiski tripled and scored a pair of runs to lead Moniteau over visiting Redbank Valley, 6-3.

Lee DeMatteis had a two-run double for the Warriors while Tyler McFadden drove in two runs on a single. Hunter Fitzingo went 1-for-3 with a run scored with Gage Neal and Tanner Williams each hitting a single.

Blaney Brooks and Austin Leasure each went 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Bulldogs. Nick Smith went 1-for-4 with a run scored while Hunter Buzard and Kobe Bonano each had an RBI.

Branson Carson gave up one hit while striking out five to earn the victory for Moniteau.

Brooks took the loss for Redbank giving up three hits and four runs while striking out one in two innings on the mound. Bonano finished the game with four strikeouts and three allowed hits.

KARNS CITY 5, A-C VALLEY 3

FOXBURG, Pa. – Steve O’Donnell and Jake Weckerly each went 2-for-3 with a run scored to help visiting Karns City to a 5-3 victory over A-C Valley.

Josh Whitmire also went 1-for-1 with two RBIs while Ty Belles went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Gremlins. Josh Wimer went 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and Colton Hutchinson drove in a run off a single.

Levi Orton paced the Falcons going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sam Anderson went 2-for-4 including a double and run scored while Joe Dehart added a pair of RBIs. Tony Thomson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Tanner Merwin had a run scored.

Colton Hutchinson earned the win for Karns City striking out six batters while allowing three runs on seven hits.

Broc Weigel struck out eight batters and gave up four hits, four runs and walked five in the loss for A-C Valley.

CLARION 16, FOREST AREA 6

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. – Scoring 12 runs in its final two at bats, Clarion overcame an early 5-2 deficit to beat visiting Forest Area, 16-6, at the Clarion County Park.

Nate Datko, Skylar Rhoades and Skyler Pastor each had a pair of RBIs for the Bobcats.

Datko was 2-for-5 with a run scored, Rhoades was 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored and Pastor was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Cal German added a pair of hits going 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored as did Cole Slaugenhoup (2-for-3 with a walk) and Lake Staub (2-for-2, 2 walks, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI). Chase Kriebel chipped in a double, two walks and two runs scored.

Daniel Schwab drove home two runs for the Fires while going 1-for-3. Chris Pederson was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Datko got the win in relief going 2 ⅓ innings allowing an unearned run on two hits and two walks while striking out five.
