Blairsville too much for Cameron County

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. — District 6 champion Blairsville rode a hot shooting effort en route to a dominating 72-25 win over Cameron County in the first round of the PIAA Class A playoffs Saturday at Hollidaysburg High School.

Nicole Boyer scored a season-high 21 points, 17 in the first half, while Colgate commit Chelsey Koren registered 20 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Cats (24-2) scored 51 points in the first half and were in complete control throughout.

Three Cameron County (15-11) players — Susie Guisto, Mallory Lyon and Madison Harrier scored 7 points each, as the Lady Raiders were making their first PIAA playoff appearance since 2003.

Blairsville will meet Quigley Catholic in the second round.
