JOHNSONBURG 50, RIDGWAY 48, OVERTIME

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Ridgway’s Emily Fullem scored her 1,000th career point but Johnsonburg topped Ridgway, 50-48 in overtime, in the consolation game of the Elk County Tournament at St. Marys.

Fullem came into the contest needing 27 points for 1,000 in her career and reached the mark late in the fourth quarter when she netted points 27 and 28 before fouling out of the game with 1,001 career tallies.

While Fullem helped the Lady Elkers get to overtime, without her in the extra frame Ridgway managed just two points in overtime.

Johnsonburg got four points in the extra session with Rylie Casilio making a two-point shot and Maria Jones and Emma King each hitting a free throw.

The game was close throughout with Ridgway holding a 15-13 halftime lead before Johnsonburg took a 29-28 lead after three quarters.

Cassidy King had a double-double for the Ramettes with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Casilio added 13 points and Amanda Williams seven.

Fullem finished a double-double with 12 rebounds while also blocking seven shots and handing out two assists. Casey Woodford added 10 points, five rebounds and an assist for Ridgway.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 41, ST. MARYS 26

ST. MARYS, Pa. – In the championship game of the Elk County Tournament, Taylor Newton had 18 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Elk County Catholic to a 41-26 win over St. Marys.

Josie Smith added 10 points for the Lady Crusaders, while Megan Quesenberry had a team-high 10 points for St. Marys.
