District 9 Wrestling Seedings Released

Class 2A Seedings • Class 3A Seeding (With District 4)

CLARION, Pa.  — The District 9 2A and 3A Wrestling Pairings for this weekend’s tournaments at Clearfield Area High School have been released by Chairman Randy Cathcart.

In Class 2A, the action begins at 4 p.m. Friday with the preliminary round, followed by the quarterfinals and two rounds of consolations.

Saturday, the semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m. with two rounds of consolations.

At 3:30 p.m., the Parade of Champions and District 9 Hall of Fame presentation will be done.

The finals and consolation finals begin at 4 p.m.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the 2A Northwest Regional Tournament in Sharon March 3-4. A team trophy will also be awarded.

In 3A, the action begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the quarterfinals. The first-round consolations follow, then the semifinals, second-round consolations and third-round consolations.

The Parade of Champions and District 9 Hall of Fame will be done at 4 p.m. with the championship finals and consolation finals at 4:30 p.m.

Wrestling for all sessions will be done on two mats.

The top four finishers in each weight class qualify for the 3A Northwest Regional Tournament in Altoona March 3-4. A team trophy will also be awarded.

Food, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at the Clearfield Area High School cafeteria.

In 2A, the Brookville Raiders are heavy favorites to crown the most champs as they have seven of their 14 grapplers seeded No. 1.

They include Keelan Kunselman (113), Gavin Park (120), Kai Sorbin (126), Caleb Hetrick (152), Noah Cieleski (182), Xavier Molnar (195) and Tyler Cook (220).

In 3A, the DuBois Beavers also look like strong favorites with seven No. 1 seeds.

Their top seeds include Trenton Donahue (106), Ed Scott (113), Dalton Woodrow (120), Kolby Ho (132), Brock Adams (145), Carson Hanna (160) and Dave Henninger (195).

Tickets are $3 for students and $6 for adults. For all sessions, student tickets are $9 and adults $18.
