DuBois Beavers enjoy perfect day at regionals

ALTOONA, Pa. — For the DuBois Beavers, Friday was their day at the Class AAA Northwest Regional Wrestling Tournament Friday.

The Beaver were 7-0 on the day.

At 113 pounds, Dalton Woodrow beat Warren’s Jake Frankhouser, 6-1, and Titusville’s Chris Wig in a fall at 5:13.

At 120, teammate Kolby Ho beat Cathedral Prep’s Brandon Sauers, 3-1, and pinned Bald Eagle Area’s Clayton Giedrock in 56 seconds.

Brock Adams kept the run going for the Beavers with a 5-3 win over General McLane’s Hunter Hendricks.

Carson Hanna made it 7-for-7 with a pin of Carrick’s Justice Jones in 5:17 and a 7-5 decision over Central Mountain’s Tanner Weaver.

Punxsutawney had two winners as Kaleb Young and Eli Lambiotte each were triumphant twice.

Lambiotte scored a tech fall over Carrick’s Cody Kirk, 15-0, in 5:34 at 145 pounds and added major decision of State College’s Dalton Barger, 12-2.

For Young, he also won by technical fall over State College’s Cole Urbas, 16-1, in 4:26, and by major decision over Philipsburg-Osceola’s Nick Patrick, 9-1.

Gage Arrington was pinned Hollidaysburg’s Hunter Gill at 285.

For Clearfield, the Bison got wins from 170-pound Luke McGonigal, who major decisioned Altoona’s Parker McClellan, 11-1 and 195-pounder Travis Ogden, who beat State College’s Cory Dreibelbis, 3-0, and McDowell’s Mike Kurelowech, 13-2. .

Clearfield wrestlers also lost three quarterfinal matches. 106-pound Matt Ryan lost a tech fall to Prep’s Brady Sittinger, 17-1, in 3:19. At 113, Jude Pallo lost 5-3 to Bellefonte’s Shafiq Blake.

Before 126-pounder Hunter Blake lost to General McLane’s Brett Mallory, 4-0, he pinned Carrick’s Matt O’Connor. 132-pounder Josiah McClarren beat State College’s Zach Price, 9-4, then dropped an 8-4 decision to Prep’s TaNauz Gregory,

At 145, Tallin Norris lost by tech fall to McLane’s Briggs Twitchell, 18-3. At 160, Hunter Wright lost 14-6 to Prep’s Luigi Yates and at 182, Mifflin’s Brandon Wilson pinned Levi Wisor. At 220, Hunter Bumbarger was pinned Hollidaysburg’s Noah Worley and Nate Lash lost a 3-1 decision to Altoona’s David Hess.

St. Marys 106-pounder Tyler Dilley beat Mifflin County’s Christian Fisher, 7-4, at 106 pounds.

At 132, Cameron Resch lost 12-2 to McDowell’s Carmen Ciotti, 138-pounder Garret Cook pinned Kiyammee Johnson of Westinghouse in 41 seconds then was pinned in 1:05 by Prep’s Carter Starocci.

160-pounder Brandon Cherry scored a pin of Westinghouse’s Tyree Carlins in 1:31, then was pinned by Mifflin County’s Trent Hidlay. 182-pound Christian Steffan lost a 6-4 decision to Prep’s Mike Hughes.

At 195, Bellefonte’s Max Mondy beat Mitchell Cashmer, 5-2.

At 220, D.J. Salinas pinned Carrick’s Cary Knight, then dropped a 3-1 decision to Central Mountain’s Hunter Weaver, 3-1.

At 285, McLane’s Jacob Lenhardt pinned Ray Kline in 3:05.

For the Bradford Owls, Tyler Thompson won at 126-pounds with a pin of Central Mountsain’s Seth Andrus in 4:45. They lost two matches as Tyler Thompson got beat, 20-6, to Altoona’s Cole Manley and GM’s Hunter Hendricks beat Dillon Keane, 8-3.
