LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second time this season, Redbank Valley graduate Brooke Hinderliter of Slippery Rock is the PSAC West Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week.
Hinderliter continued her strong start to her collegiate career with a pair of qualify performances against No. 3 Ashland and Hillsdale at the Ashland Thanksgiving Classic last weekend.
In two games, Hinderliter averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 rebound per game. Hinderliter shot an efficient 50 percent (7-of-14) from the field overall and 75 percent (6-of-8) from the free-throw line. The highlight of her week was a 13-point, four-steal, three-assist, two-rebound, one-block effort against Hillsdale.
On the year, the 5-foot-9 guard is averaging 8.8 points per game, third on the team, while adding 3.2 rebounds per contest. In six games, she has 11 assists and five steals and is shooting 48.7 percent (19 of 39) from the floor while starting every game.
