RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Union built a 16-1 lead 10 minutes into the game and cruised to a 49-34 win over visiting Clarion in KSAC Crossover play Thursday night.

Lexey and Shaley Shick each scored 15 points for the Golden Damsels with Lexey adding five rebounds, five steals and two assists and Shaley four board, four steals and two helpers.

Frankee Remmick chilled in nine points, seven rebounds, four steals and two assists despite being limited because of foul trouble.

Clarion, which turned the ball over 32 times, got seven points and seven rebounds from Maddy Weaver with Anna Reed adding seven points and three steals. Wendy Beveridge had six points off the bench.

BROOKVILLE 43, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 41

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Trailing by five at halftime, visiting Brookville rallied past Elk County Catholic to a 43-41 D9 League victory Thursday night.

The Lady Raiders were down 27-22 at the break but tied the game at 34 at the end of three quarters behind six points from Brooke Shattenberg before outscoring ECC, 9-7, in the fourth quarter.

Free throws by MacKenzie Ganoe and Elaina Powell in the final minute of the game were critical to the Brookville victory.

Ganoe hit a charity shot with 55 seconds left to give Brookville a 42-41 lead and Powell then hit a free throw with under 15 seconds to play to make it a 2-point game.

Shattenberg led the Raiders with 16 points with Kara Wonderling and Hali Olson each adding nine. Four of Olson’s came in the decisive fourth quarter.

Reilly Herzing led ECC with 16 points and six rebounds

ST. MARYS 45, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 43

DUBOIS, Pa. – Rachelle Armenini and Rachel Bauer combined to score 24 points to lead St. Marys to a 45-43 road win at DuBois Central Catholic Thursday.

Armenini led the Lady Dutch with 14 points with Rachel Bauer adding 10. Caitlyn Bankovich added seven with Michelle Bauer and Kaitlyn Barackman each chipping in six.

Gabby Caruso paced DCC with 13 points with Jordy Frank adding eight.

The Lady Cardinals scored nearly half their points in the first quarter taking a 20-15 lead after one before holding a 24-23 halftime lead. St. Marys took the lead at the end of three, 34-33.  

BOYS

RIDGWAY 37, JOHNSONBURG 25

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Jeremy and Andy Breier combined to score all but eight of Ridgway’s points Thursday night in a 37-25 home win over rival Johnsonburg.

Jeremy Breier netted a game-high 20 points with little brother, Andy, adding nine.

Drew Ackers paced Johnsonburg with seven tallies, and Kevin Benson added five for the Rams, who trailed 19-14 at halftime after being outscored 14-4 in the second quarter.  

UNION 63, CLARION 45

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Cole Morris poured in 25 points  and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Union to a 63-45 win over visiting Clarion Thursday night.

Clarion jumped out to a 17-7 lead six minutes into the game before Union, led by 13 points from Morris, went on a game-changing 21-6 run to take a 31-25 halftime lead. The Golden Knights then outscored Clarion 15-9 in the third quarter to push the lead to double digits, 46-34, going to the fourth quarter.

Lucas Bowser added 11 points and nine rebounds for Union with Hank Murphy adding nine points and five boards.

Ceventh Lynch-Skunda paced Clarion with 17 points including 11 in the first quarter. He hit three first-quarter 3-pointers and was also a perfect 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. Ty Burford chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, but Union held Clarion’s leading scorer, Jonathan Smith, to a season-low three points, all in the third quarter. Smith did grab six rebounds, while Bo Miller had nine boards and four points.

CLEARFIELD 80, PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 39

CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Five different Clearfield players scored in double digits as the Bison easily dispatched of visiting Philipsburg-Osceola, 80-39, Thursday night.

Cody Spaid led the Bison with 19 points and six rebounds with Tommy Hazel adding 15 points and six boards. Evan Brown and Will Myers each scored 14 points and handed out five assists, and David McKenzie had 10 points.

GALETON 68, NORTHERN POTTER 63

ULYSSES, Pa. – Evan Brooks and McKinley Ward each recorded double-doubles to lead Galeton to a 68-63 road win at Northern Potter in North Tier League play Thursday night.

Brooks, a freshman, had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ward added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Three additional players scored in double digits for the Tigers with Mitchell Smith and Isaiah Shuemaker tying Brooks for team-high honors with 14 points each.

Frank Gardner all scorers with 25 points, while Dylan Foust and Tucker Kosa each had 15.  

OTTO-ELDRED 78, AUSTIN 33

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Heath Stewart had 15 points, five rebounds and five steals to pace Otto-Eldred to a 78-35 win over visiting Austin Thursday night.

Sawyer Drummond added 13 points for the Terrors with Dylan Close chipping in 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Trevor Carlson 10 points.

Anderson Nicka led all scorers with 24 points for Austin.  

PORT ALLEGANY 55, SMETHPORT 34

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Jordan Seefeldt scored 28 points to lead Port Allegany to a 55-34 win over visiting Smethport in North Tier League play Thursday night.

Seefeldt scored 14 of his points in the fourth quarter helping the Gators outscore the Hubbers 21-6 in the quarter.

Tre Garzel added 13 points and nine rebounds for Port with Brandon McCaslin adding 10 points.

Caleb O’Neil 14 points.  

OSWAYO VALLEY 45, CAMERON COUNTY 39

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Brandon Brabham scored 17 points while hitting five 3-pointers to lead Oswayo Valley to a 45-39 win over visiting Cameron County in North Tier League play action Thursday night.

Ty Sturdevant added 10 points for the Green Wave with Theo Henry six points and five assists and Ricardo Gross three points and seven rebounds.

Derek Rieder paced Cameron County with 15 points with Trae Smith 12.  

The win broke a 23-game losing streak to Cameron by Osway Valley.

ST. MARYS 63, BROCKWAY 54

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Jeff Wehler, Parker Housler and Brady Bauer combined to score 48 points to lead visiting St. Marys to a 63-54 win at Brockway Thursday night.

Wehler tallied 19 points, Housler 16 and Bauer 13 for the Dutch, who led by 19 going to the fourth quarter.

Jarrett Esposito led Brockway with 13 points and  Quade Lundberg added 11 points for the Rovers.  

FOREST AREA 57, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 12

TIONESTA, Pa. – Cody Slater had 19 points and four steals to lead Forest Area to a 57-12 win over visiting Tidioute Charter Thursday night at West Forest.

Andrew Schwab and Seth Berlin each added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Fires who shutout Tidioute Charter in the second and third quarters.  

Nic Smail chipped in eight points for Forest.
