REDBANK VALLEY 44, KEYSTONE 33

KNOX, Pa. – Sam Heeter and Devin Shumaker spearheaded a game-ending 20-4 run that lifted Redbank Valley to a 44-33 road win over upset-minded Keystone Monday night.

Trailing 29-24 with 7 ½ minutes to play, Heeter and Shumaker each scored eight points during the decisive run that turned a 29-24 deficit into the 11-point win.

Shumaker tied the game at 29 with a steal and a bucket with 5:12 to play then gave Redbank Valley its first lead, 32-31, since early in the second half when he nailed a three, the only three of the night for the Bulldogs, with 3:03 to play.

Heeter then took over getting a steal, a layup, a steal, a free throw, a steal and a layup in the course if just over a minute to push the advantage to 37-31 with 1:35 to play.

Zach Westover, who finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, then put home an offensive rebound after Heeter had grabbed a big defensive board on the other end, and Heeter added three more points before Shumaker put the exclamation point on the win with a dunk that just had enough on it to go through to set the final score with just over four seconds left.

Redbank, playing its second straight game without leading scorer Jake Dougherty (sprained ankle) led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter thanks to a quarter-closing 12-4 run but scored just 10 points over the next two quarters allowing Keystone, which trailed 18-17 at halftime, to take the lead.

Alex Graf led the Panthers with 11 points, but it was a season-low for the senior who entered the contest scoring a District-9 leading 25.3 points per game. Heeter had the task of guarding Graf most of the night.

Shumaker paced Redbank Valley with 13 points, while Heeter added 10.
