CAMERON COUNTY 47, PORT ALLEGANY 37

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Trae Smith scored a game-high 23 points to lead Cameron County to a 47-37 win over visiting Port Allegany Wednesday in North Tier League action.

Smith netted 14 of his points before halftime helping the Red Raiders grab a 33-26 halftime lead.

The second half didn’t feature much scoring with Cameron holding a 14-11 edge in the half.

Derek Rieder added 10 points for the Red Raiders with Jordan Crosby scoring nine.

Tre Garzel had 14 points and 15 rebounds for Port Allegany with Jordan Seefeldt adding 13.

COUDERSPORT 75, AUSTIN 27

AUSTIN, Pa. – Three Coudersport players scored in double digits and 10 players scored in all, as the visiting Falcons dispatched Austin, 75-27, in North Tier League action Wednesday night.

Jared Green led Coudersport with a game-high 16 points to go with 11 rebounds, while Aaron Wolfinger added 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals and Darren Keglovits had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Owen Chambers chipped in nine points for the Falcons, who led 18-3 at the end of the first quarter and 35-11 at halftime.

Anderson Nicka paced Austin with nine points.

GALETON 68, SMETHPORT 28

GALETON, Pa. – Mitchell Smith and McKinley Ward combined to score 42 points and grab 15 rebounds to lead Galeton to a 68-28 win over visiting Smethport in North Tier League action Wednesday.

Smith led the way for the Tigers with 25 points while adding seven rebounds. Ward chipped in 17 points and eight rebounds, while freshman Evan Brooks had eight points and 12 boards.

Cameron O’Neil led Smethport with 11 points.

ST. MARYS 62, DUBOIS 56

DUBOIS, Pa. – Parker Housler netted a game-high 25 points to lead St. Marys past DuBois, 62-56, in D9 League action Wednesday at DuBois.

Jeff Wehler chipped in 18 points for the Dutch, who avenged an early-season loss at the Keystone Tip-off Tournament to the Beavers.

Nick LaBrasca led DuBois with 21 points. Zach Sloan added 15 and John Oberlin 10.

The teams were tied at 11 at the end of the first quarter before St. Marys outscored the Beavers 18-11 in the second quarter thanks to eight points from Housler, who hit a pair of threes in the quarter, and six from Wehler on two 3-pointers. Both Housler and Wehler nailed five threes apiece in the game helping St. Marys knock down 11 long-range bombs.  

OSWAYO VALLEY 75, NORTHERN POTTER 43

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Brandon Brabham’s 17 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist led Oswayo Valley to a 75-43 home win over Northern Potter in North Tier League play Wednesday.

Ty Sturdevant added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Green Wave with Theo Henry picking up 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals and Isaac Threadgill 11 points and five boards.

Frank Gardner led Northern Potter with 14 points with Tucker Kosa chipping in 12.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 56, KANE 45

DUBOIS, Pa. – Behind the play of freshman Justin Miknis and senior Christian LaParne, DuBois Central Catholic outscored Kane 23-10 in the fourth quarter to claim a come-from-behind 56-45 win over the visiting Wolves Wednesday in AML action.

The Cardinals trailed 35-33 going to the fourth quarter before Miknis exploded for 12 of his career high 28 points, his second straight 20-point outing, and LaParne added nine of his 11 points.

Thomas Grecco added eight points for DCC, which led 26-23 at the half before falling behind after three.  

Andrew Bucheit paced Kane with 12 points, and Davis Gardner added eight for the Wolves.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 63, PUNXSUTAWNEY 49

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – A 10-point third-quarter advantage helped Elk County Catholic shake off a poor second quarter and gain a 63-49 D9 League win at Punxsutawney Wednesday night.

The Crusaders, who led 21-12 at the end of the first quarter, found that lead cut to three, 25-22, at halftime before outscoring the Chucks 21-11 in the third quarter and 38-27 in the second half.

Gabe Kraus was a big reason for the second-half surge scoring 17 of his game-high 20 points after intermission including 11 in the third quarter when he hit three 3-pointers. He had six triples in the game.

Nate DaCanal added 17 point for ECC with Kyle Huff chipping in with 14.  

Dylan Huey paced Punxsutawney with 16 points and Brandon Matthews had 11.  

CRANBERRY 41, KEYSTONE 33

SENECA, Pa. – Austin Rex and Evan Lutz each scored 11 points to lead Cranberry to its second win in a week over Keystone, 41-33, Wednesday at Cranberry.

Dechlyn Sheffer chipped in eight points for the Berries, who outscored the Panthers 14-4 in the fourth quarter.

Austin Ion led Keystone with 11 points.  

REDBANK VALLEY 56, FOREST AREA 23

TIONESTA, Pa. – Sam Heeter scored 23 points to lead Redbank Valley to a 56-23 win over Forest Area Wednesday at West Forest.

Kaleb Reed added 13 points for the Bulldogs with Dalton Dougherty chipping in with eight.

Nic Smail’s 12 points led the Fires.

CLEARFIELD 89, BALD EAGLE AREA 56

CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Will Myers scored 27 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Clearfield to an 89-56 win over visiting Bald Eagle Area in Mountain League action Wednesday.

Cody Spaid added nine points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Bison with Tommy Hazel dishing out 14 assists to go with three points. Evan Brown also topped the 20-point mark with 21 for the Clearfield, and David McKenzie chipped in 12 tallies.

JOHNSONBURG 64, CURWENSVILLE 49

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Ryan Kilhoffer scored 12 of his game-high 24 points after halftime to help Johnsonburg rally past Curwensville, 64-49, n non-league action Wednesday in Johnsonburg.

The Rams trailed 26-25 at halftime but outscored the Golden Tide 41-23 in the second half including 26-17 in the fourth quarter.

Kevin Benson added 10 points for the Rams.

Jake Terry led Curwensville with 15 points.
