MONITEAU 16, A-C VALLEY 1, 3 INNINGS

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – New coach, same old results for the Moniteau softball team.

Cortney Claypoole and Kristina DeMatteis each drove in four runs, as the Lady Warriors rolled past visiting A-C Valley, 16-1, in three innings.

Claypoole went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored to help her dad, Lennie Claypoole, pick up his first win as the new Moniteau manager.

Kristina DeMatteis, meanwhile, was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and two runs scored.

It was a nine-hit, five-walk attack for the Lady Warriors with Kennedy DeMatteis also going 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Megan Hepler, Dolcey Shunk, Maddie Clark and Bailey Hoffman all scored two runs and Clark added a pair of RBIs.

Kennedy DeMatteis was strong in the circle giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out six.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 18, KANE 2, 5 INNINGS

KANE, Pa. – Visiting DuBois Central Catholic broughts its bats with it to Kane and rolled to an 18-2, five-inning victory over the Lady Wolves.

Jordy Frank and Ashley Wruble hit back-to-back home runs in a six-run second inning.

Frank was 3-for-4 with a five RBIs and three runs scored and also hit a double, while Wruble went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored and also had a double.

Macey Hanes was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, Riley Assalone was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and two runs scored and Libby Maurer was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Lady Cardinals.

Assalone got the win throwing four innings two runs on two hits and a walk. She struck out five.

Wruble threw one inning of relief giving up a hit.

Ella Marconi hit a two-run home run for Kane.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 8, ST. MARYS 1

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Sophomore Grace Aikens went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double and four RBIs to help Punxsutawney to an 8-1 win over visiting St. Marys.

Aikens was part of a 12-hit attack for the Lady Chucks.

Kylie Lingenfelter was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, Morgan Adamson went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI and Alli Ishman was 2-for-4.

Lingenfelter got the win going the distance and allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out 13.

Syd Eckerly had an RBI single for St. Marys driving in Tessa Grotzinger.

CAMERON COUNTY 7, GALETON 1

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Madi Guisto went 3-for-3 with three singles and two RBIs to help Cameron County to a 7-1 win over visiting Galeton.

Alyvia McKimm added a two-run double, while Taylor Britton also had an RBI double for the Lady Raiders, who broke a 1-all tie with a four-run fifth inning.

Laila Smith got the win allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six.

Makaya Shadle took the loss for Galeton allowing seven runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out five. She added a single on offense.

OSWAYO VALLEY 8, PORT ALLEGANY 7

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Jayden Snyder went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to help Oswayo Valley to an 8-7 road win over Port Allegany.

Madison Nudd got the win allowing seven runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out 12.

Hannah Lathrop was 2-for-3 with two doubles for the Lady Gators with Makenzie Burr going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Jenna Sprankle 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Makenzie Burr took the loss giving up six earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out eight.

MOSHANNON VALLEY 8, CURWENSVILLE 1

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Kendra Merritt went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, four RBIs and run scored to lift visiting Moshannon Valley to an 8-1 win over Curwensville.

Emma Kitko was also 3-for-4 with a run scored for the visitors.

Camryn Richard drove in Curwensville’s lone run on a single.

Sidney Lewis got the win throwing a three-hitter with seven strikeouts. Clarissa Cole took the loss.

CENTRAL-MARTINSBURG 8, CLEARFIELD 0

MARTINSBURG, Pa. – Kaitlyn Thompson threw a five-hit shutout, as Central-Martinsburg beat visiting Clearfield, 8-0.

Cameryn Feathers was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Dragons, while Jenna Ritchey scored twice.

Clearfield stats were not reported.

COUDERSPORT 6, OTTO-ELDRED 1

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Macy Gleason was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to help Coudersport to a 6-1 victory over Otto-Eldred.

Shaleyn Black also went 3-for-4 for the Lady Falcons, while Joplin Osgood had a triple and an RBI, Tori Miller a double and an RBI and Emma Powell a double.

EmmaRae Easton pitched four innings of relief to get the win allowing three hits and a walk while strining out five. Madison Smith started and pitched three innings giving up one run on two hits and five walks while striking out three.

Kirsten Renninger was 2-for-4 with a double for Otto-Eldred, while Haley Frederick had a double as did Emily Smith.

Alyssa Shelander took the loss going six innings allowing six runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out five.
