BASEBALL

ST. MARYS 4, WARREN 2, 8 INNINGS

WARREN, Pa. – Shane Price’s two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning lifted St. Marys to a 4-2 win over Warren.

Nate Beimel walked with one out in the eight before Price took the first pitch he saw over the left-field fence to give the Dutch the lead.

Beimel got the win in relief going 4 ⅔ innings allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out 11. Matt Bellina started and pitched 3 ⅓ innings giving up a run on two hits and a no walks.

Price paced the St. Marys offense going 2-for-4 with a run scored and the two RBIs. Garrett Bauer was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and Beimel scored twice.

Aidan Morrison was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Warren with Ben Berdine going 1-for-4 with an RBI. Ryan Rafalski had a single and a run scored as did Mitchell Grosch.

Nick Hussey took the loss in relief going one inning allowing two runs, both earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out two.

Berdine started and pitched seven innings allowing two unearned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven.

MONITEAU 9, KEYSTONE 3

BUTLER, Pa. – Mason Mershimer drove in four runs and Tyler McFadden had three hits to lift Moniteau to a 9-3 win over visiting Keystone in Butler.

Mershimer was 1-for-2 with a pair of sacrifice flies in the game, while McFadden went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Jared Lominski hit a home run for the Warriors and was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Hunter Fitzingo went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run scored and an RBI and Lee DeMatteis was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Conner Exley was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Keystone.

Gage Neal and Luke Pry combined to strikeout 14 batters on the mound for Moniteau.

Neal got the win going five innings allowing an earned run on one hit, a hit batter and four walks while striking out 10. Pry pitched two innings giving up two earned runs on five hits while striking out four.

Troy Johnson took the loss going two innings giving up four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out one.

OTTO-ELDRED 7, SMETHPORT 1

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Cole Sebastian tossed a two-hitter, and his brother, Chase Sebastian, drove in a pair of runs to give Otto-Eldred a 7-1 win over visiting Smethport.

Cole Sebastian went the distance needing just 70 pitches to complete seven innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out eight while giving up one earned run.

Chase Sebastian was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and the two RBIs. Cole Sebastian, meanwhile, walked three times and scored twice while Trent Windsor was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Nate Hollowell was 1-for-3 with an RBI with Noah Costa going 1-for-3 with a run scored for Smethport.

BELLEFONTE 14, DUBOIS 1, 6 INNINGS< .strong>

DUBOIS, Pa. – Nick Catalano had three hits and drove in four runs to lead Bellefonte to a 14-1, six-inning win at DuBois.

Catalano was 3-for-4 and also scored two runs. C.J. Funk (1-for-3, 2 walks, 2 runs scored), Robert Marsh (3-for-4, 1 walk, 1 run scored) and Colton Burd (2-for-5, 2 runs scored) each drove in a pair of runs for the Red Raiders.

Also for Bellefonte, Ashton Wetzler was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, C.J. Lauck was 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored and Nick Capparelle was 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored.

Justin Swauger went 2-for-3 to pace the DuBois offense. Dylan McCluskey had a hit and an RBI and Garrett Starr had a hit and a run scored for the Beavers.

Wetzler got the win going six innings allowing an unearned run on eight hits and a walk while striking out four.

Alex Pasternak suffered the loss going three innings allowing five runs, all earned, one eight hits and a walk while striking out three.

SOFTBALL

CLARION 9, JOHNSONBURG 0

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Kait Constantino pitched a four-hit shutout while striking out 16 batters to lead Clarion to a 9-0 win at Johnsonburg.

Constantino threw 70 of her 89 pitches for strikes and didn’t walk a batter. She helped her own cause going 4-for-5 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot.

Carly Best had a perfect day for the Lady Cats pacing the offense by going 5-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Lindsey Kemmer was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Noel Anthony was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Jordan Best drove in a pair of runs and scored a run.

Lindsey Kocjancic was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Johnsonburg.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 13, ALTOONA 3, 6 INNINGS

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Madison Stonbraker hit a pair of home runs and added a double and Holly Hartman also went deep once while doubling twice in a 13-3, six-inning Punxsutawney win over visiting Altoona.

Stonbraker was 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs, while Hartman went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Elliott Ferrent was also 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, Kendall Johnston drove in a pair of runs and Sarah Weaver had a double and three runs scored for the Lady Chucks.

Isabella Zavalanski was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI for Altoona.

Ferrent got the win going six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.

MONITEAU 16, KEYSTONE 1, 4 INNINGS

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Dolcey Shunk went 4-for-4 with a run scored to help Moniteau to a 16-1 win over visiting Keystone.

Lexi Miller was also 3-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored for the Lady Warriors while Abby Rottman was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Cassidy Claypoole was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Courtney Stewart got the win going four no-hit innings allowing a run on five walks. She struck out five.

Maddie Dunlap scored Keystone’s lone run.
