Oct. 22, 2019 Volleyball Recaps: A-C Valley, ECC Grab Wins; J-burg Knocks off Kane in 3

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Meah Ielase had 10 kills and three aces to help visiting A-C Valley to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-17) win over Moniteau.

Mia Sherman added eight kills for the Lady Falcons with Andrea Meals chipping in six kills and Tarra Stefanacci five kills while also recording a team-high 14 set assists.

Emily Wetzel added 12 set assists for A-C Valley.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, RIDGWAY 0

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Behind 19 Taylor Newton kills visiting Elk County Catholic beat Ridgway, 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-8).

Julia Aikens added eight kills for the Lady Crusaders with Brooke Bauer contributing four kills.

Elle Fledderman ran the offense for ECC with 31 set assists.

REDBANK VALLEY 3, PUNXSUTAWNEY 0

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Behind 10 kills from Becca Kunselman Redbank Valley swept visiting Punxsutawney, 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-19).

Montana Hetrick added eight kills and two aces for the Lady Bulldogs with Lauren Smith contributing six kills and a block, Taylor King five kills and three blocks and Kianna Shreckengost five kills.

Tara Hinderliter ran the offense for Redbank Valley with 30 set assists while adding a kill, an ace and two blocks.

BRADFORD 3, ST. MARYS 0

BRADFORD, Pa. – Alix Ordiway, Alex Asp and Erica Marshall combined for 26 kills to lead Bradford to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-7, 25-18) win over visiting St. Marys.

Ordiway and Asp each had nine kills with Marshall adding eight kills.

Laney Kahle ran the offense for the Lady Owls with 27 set assists.

JOHNSONBURG 3, KANE 0

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Jenna Morgan had 18 kills and Kenzie Sallack added 14 kills to help Johnsonburg sweep visiting Kane, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19).

Audri Marconi led Kane with 12 kills with Ronnie Costanzo adding 11 set assists and four aces and Moira Stanisch eight set assists.

DUBOIS 3, BROCKWAY 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Amber Gallina had 10 kills to lead DuBois to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-11) win over visiting Brockway.

Sydney Kaschalk and Kaylee Sadowski each added four kills for the Lady Beavers with Kaschalk also contributing four aces and two blocks and Sadowski six aces and five digs.

Cate Gregory ran the offense for DuBois with 20 set assists while adding four digs.

BROOKVILLE 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Morgan Johnson and Lauren Hergert each had 12 kills to lead Brookville to a 3-2 (25-13, 18-25, 25-17, 23-25, 15-5) win at DuBois Central Catholic.

Bella Mangiantini led DCC with 16 kills and seven blocks with Jordy Koso adding nine kills and Hanna Holdren five kills.

Maia Cogley ran the Lady Cardinals offense with 28 set assists.
