Player Profile: Deion Deas, Clarion-Limestone

DEION ALEXANDER DEAS – JUNIOR – CLARION-LIMESTONE

Son of: Joseph M. Deas IV and Tracy R. Deas
Sports Played: Basketball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Brothers: Joseph M. Deas V, Anthony M. Deas, Timothy J. Ferringer
2017-18 Highlights: He was third on C-L in scoring at 13.3 points per game while adding 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.8 assists per contest. He scored 20 or more points eight times including a high of 32 in a win over West Forest. He led C-L to the KSAC Title and was named the KSAC Title Game MVP as well as a third-team All-KSAC performer. Deion enters his junior season with 582 career points.
Post-High School Plans: Deion plans to attend college, and he would like to play basketball in college.

Q&A With Deion Deas

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
DD: I love playing basketball because it keeps me off of the streets and out of trouble.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
DD: Earning the MVP award in the KSAC Championship game.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
DD: I love to play high school sports because it teaches me a lot about life.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
DD: My father has had the most influence on me in high school sports. He has always been there for me and has taught me basketball and a lot about life through the game.

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
DD: I tried to play baseball but unfortunately I didn’t understand it as a little guy and when I tried basketball I really like it and kept playing.

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
DD: I like the number 2 and like that number because of such players like Lonzo Ball, Kyrie Irving, and Eric Bledsoe. Those players have influenced me to become the best player I can be.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
DD: They would find out that I’m a very confident person especially when Im playing basketball.

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
DD: He may not be famous to everyone else but he is famous to me but I would like to have dinner with John Ferringer. My grandfather on my mothers side. He passed away in 1988. He could teach me more about myself and my family.

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
DD: iPhone because they are great and awesome.

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
DD: Snapchat cause I can get ahold of a lot of friends and share things with them.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
DD: I love to socialize with friends and make bonds with the teachers.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
DD: I wish the school day was shorter and the basketball season was longer.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
DD: I wish you would have asked me how hard I work in the summer on my game. I work very hard in the off season. I go to camps, I play games with the Rising Stars AAU team, and I have individual workouts with my dad and Coach Rogers (Laugand) preparing me for the upcoming season.
