Player Profile: Jordan Best, Clarion

JORDAN BEST – SOPHOMORE – CLARION

Daughter of: Matt and Melanie Best. Her dad is an assistant softball coach for Clarion.
Sports Played: Volleyball, Basketball, Softball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Her sister Carly was a senior on the Clarion softball team this past season. Her dad played football and other sports at Keystone. Her mom also played high school sports as did her cousin Sadie (Rudesyle) and cousin Brodie.
2018-19 Highlights: She helped all three of her teams to the PIAA playoffs including PIAA quarterfinal appearances for both softball and volleyball as a freshman. In basketball, she averaged 6.7 ppg, and she was named third-team All-Conference at catcher in softball.
Post-High School Plans: She would like to go to college somewhere and possibly play softball but she doesn’t know what job she wants to do

Q&A With Jordan Best

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
JB: Softball. I’ve been playing it all my life and all of the girls I play with are so fun and I love all of my coaches. I just love the sport.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
JB: Playing in two D9 championships (volleyball – 1st place – and softball – 2nd place) and playing in one with my sister (softball).

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
JB: I play high school sports for all of the opportunities it brings me, it keeps me busy, keeps me in shape, I make a lot of friendships, and sports bring me so much joy to play.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
JB: My dad. He has been my softball coach for as long as I can remember, he as always pushed me to play my best and has influenced me to be the best I can be.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
JB: During playoffs in any sport having public and private schools playing against each other. They should be separate.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
JB: I would try to influence people to take better care of our planet.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
JB: In the country. I do not like feeling so crowded in the city and the country is way prettier.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
JB: They would be surprised that I traveled to central Europe for 2 weeks and went to 5 different countries.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
JB: Math. I like to do math and solve all of the problems.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
JB: The 1800s. I wouldn’t want to go for long but I want to see how life was back then and I want to try on an outfit that the girls would have worn.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
JB: 19. What are some things that you enjoy to do in your free time? I enjoy knitting scarves, being with my sisters and friends, and reading.
