TANNER LABENNE – SENIOR – BROOKVILLE

Son of: Rob LaBenne and Jill Zents
Sports Played: Baseball and wrestling
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Dad, Rob, played at DuBois. Brother, Cole, plays for Brookville
2017-18 Highlights: Hit .241 with a double and 12 RBIs for the Brookville baseball team while helping the Raiders to the District 9 Class 2A semifinals.
Post-High School Plans: Tanner would like to attend college to become an athletic director. He would like to play baseball in college.

Q&A With Tanner LaBenne

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
TB: My favorite sport is by far baseball because I love the mental aspect of the game and how it’s a team sport.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
TB: Winning a D9 title in baseball my sophomore season and playing in the state semifinals.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
TB: The reason I play high school sports is that it creates friendships and you represent your school.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
TB: The person who has had the most influence on my athletic career would be my dad. He always pushes me to keep getting better every day.

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
TB: The first sport that I remember playing would be baseball, and I loved it from the start.

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
TB: My favorite number is 44 because Paul Goldschmidt and Anthony Rizzo wear it.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
TB: The thing that would surprise someone that doesn’t know me would be that I like country music and that I name my gloves.

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
TB: If I could eat dinner with anyone it would be David Ortiz because he was my favorite player.

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
TB: iPhone

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
TB: Snapchat because you have to keep those streaks @tannerlabenne44.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
TB: The thing I like most about my high school would be gym class.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
TB: The thing that’s my least favorite about my high school would be English class.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
TB: The question that I wish you would have asked me would be what’s your pregame routine and that would be listening to music.
