GIRLS’ SOCCER

RIDGWAY 2, ST. MARYS 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Jovanna Marella and Madeline Cowan scored goals for Ridgway to lead the Lady Elkers to a 2-1 win over St. Marys in the championship game of the Bucktail Tournament at St. Marys High School Saturday.

Kaylee Muccio had the lone goal for the Lady Dutch.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 4, CURWENSVILLE 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Maddie Kear, Gina Carnovale and Marry Cerroni each had a goal and an assist to pace Elk County Catholic to a 4-2 win over Curwensville in the consolation game of the Bucktail Tournament at St. Marys High School Saturday.

Kear’s goal came on a penalty kick for the Lady Crusaders, who also got a tally from Lani Cerroni.

Madison Weber scored both goals for Curwensville.

KARNS CITY 11, KEYSTONE 0

KNOX, Pa. – Hunter Dittman and McKenna Lavella both had hat tricks to pace an 11-0 Karns City win at Keystone Saturday.

For both players, it was their first career HT.

Olivia Rumbaugh and Brooke Stahlman each added a pair of goals for the Lady Gremlins, while Maura King added a tally.

REDBANK VALLEY 9, TITUSVILLE 1

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Behind a Rhiannon Laughlin hat trick, visiting Redbank Valley rolled past Titusville, 9-1 Saturday.

Freshman Quinn Fricko added a pair of goals for the Lady Bulldogs, while Teja Hageter, Austin Kirkpatrick, Carley Shick and Alaina Hook also scored. Fricko added a pair of helpers with Shick and Josey Adams each adding an assist.

CLEARFIELD 8, BROOKVILLE 1

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Behind a pair of goals each from Alayna Ryan and Sarah Snyder, Clearfield overcame an early 1-0 deficit to pick up an 8-1 road win over Brookville Saturday.

Madison McAninch gave Brookville a 1-0 lead late in the 18th minute off a feed from Madisyn Wolfe, but Ryan tied the game unassisted less than three minutes later, and five minutes after that Amanda Hazel fed Snyder to give the Lady Bison a 2-1 lead.

Hazel then made it 3-1 at halftime taking a feed from Ryan and scoring.

It was all Clearfield in the second half with goals by Snyder (from Emma Hipps) and Hipps (from Ryan) in the first three minutes of the half putting the game away. Alyssa McCracken then added an unassisted tally in the 51st minute with Ryan (from McCracken) and Lydia Brown (unassisted) putting the finishing touches on the victory.

Clearfield only outshot Brookville 15-10 but Hayley Moore made nine saves for the Lady Bison.

PORT ALLEGANY 6, KANE 3

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Cailey Barnett, Emma Fox and Bree Garzel each scored a pair of goals to lead Port Allegany to a 6-3 win over visiting Kane Saturday.

Hanna Brown scored a pair of goals for the Lady Wolves with Sadie Walters adding a tally.

BOYS’ SOCCER

ST. MARYS 4, PORT ALLEGANY 3

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Vinicius Nunes scored all four goals for St. Marys in a 4-3 win over visiting Port Allegany Saturday.

Josh Chamberlin made eight saves for the Dutch.

Noah Costa, Kylar Carpenter and Howie Stuckey scored for Port Allegany. Brandon Peterson made nine saves in net.

COUDERSPORT 3, KANE 2

KANE, Pa. – Despite a pair of goals from Pat Detsch, Kane dropped a 3-2 decision to visiting Coudersport.

Brennan Shultz made 12 saves for the home team.

Coudersport stats weren’t reported.

BROOKVILLE 2, CLEARFIELD 2, 2 OTS

HYDE, Pa. – Brian Pangallo scored off Trenton Kramer’s free kick with just 17 seconds left in regulation helped visiting Brookville overcome a two-goal deficit to tie Clearfield, 2-2 in double overtime Saturday.

The Bison got two goals in the game’s first 20 minutes but were held scoreless the rest of the way.

Justin Vander kelen netted a goal early in the second half to get the Raiders within a tally.

Clearfield’s scorers weren’t reported.

KARNS CITY 3, KEYSTONE 0

KNOX, Pa. – Behind Austin Fahlor’s hat trick visiting Karns City topped Keystone, 3-0 Saturday.

Jake Weckerly made a pair of saves to preserve the shutout for the Gremlins.

WELLSBORO 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0

WELLSBORO, Pa. – Brett Rudy scored twice to give Wellsboro a 3-0 win over visiting Northern Potter Saturday.

Holden Kennedy also scored for the home team.

Holden Cowburn made 11 saves in a losing effort.

COWANESQUE VALLEY 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0

WESTFIELD, Pa. – Cowanesque Valley downed visiting Northern Potter, 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-5) Friday night.

Makayla Vargeson had nine kills for the victors with Karmen Short adding three kills.

Northern Potter was paced by four kills, four digs and two aces from Megan Hyde. Savannah Herring had a team-best five kills and Mirissa Bliss added five assists, three kills and an ace.
