FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Coming off its first District 9 title in school history expectations were high coming into the 2018 season for the North Clarion girls’ basketball team.

But no one. Not the players. Not head coach Terry Dreihaup or assistant coach Teri Obenrader saw 27 straight wins coming, an unbeaten record until a PIAA second-round overtime loss to Farrell.
After all, how could they?
No District 9 Class 1A team had marched through the season to a D9 title unbeaten since at least the 1995 season and only one team had done so in any classification.
But that is exactly what the She-Wolves did. From an opening-game win over Clearfield in the Brookville Tournament through a District 9 title game win over A-C Valley and then into a PIAA playoff win over Cornell, North Clarion didn’t taste defeat and in the process wrote its name into the laurels of District 9 basketball.
Chris Rossetti had a chance to sit down with seven of those She-Wolves – Cierrah Manross, Makenzie Bauer, Tori Obenrader, Abby Gatesman, Haley Sherman, Gabby Carll and Gabby Schmader to talk about their season.
