KARNS CITY 67, JOHNSTOWN 52

INDIANA, Pa. – Emily Hegedus netted a career-high 31 points, as Karns City beat Johnstown 67-52 in the consolation game of the Indiana Tip-off Tournament Saturday.

LeeAnn Gibson added 20 for the Lady Gremlins, who evened their record at 1-1 on the young season.

VENANGO CATHOLIC 40, ROCKY GROVE 32

FRANKLIN, Pa.  – Ava Homan scored 17 points and hauled down 13 rebounds to lead Venango Catholic to a 40-32 win over Rocky Grove at the Roy Sanner Tip-off Tournament at Rocky Grove Saturday.

Sarah Groner chipped in eight points and eight rebounds to help the defending  District 9 Class A champions to their first win of the year.

COUDERSPORT 43, KANE 26

KANE, Pa. – Hailey Keck scored a game-high 14 points to lead Coudersport to  a 43-26 win over Kane and the tournament championship of the Kane Tip-off Tournament Saturday night.

Keck connected on five field goals including three 3-pointers for the Lady Falcons, who also got seven points from Macy Gleason.

Trinity Clark had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for Kane.

ST. MARYS 47, JOHNSONBURG 30

KANE, Pa. – Five St. Marys players scored between eight and 12 points, as the Lady Dutch beat Johnsonburg, 47-30, in the consolation game of the Kane Tip-off Tournament Saturday night.

Rachel Bauer led St. Marys with 12 points, while Michelle Bauer had nine. Caitlyn Bankovich, Kaitlyn Barackman and Rachelle Armanini each added eight for the Lady Dutch.

“The girls started the game with a defensive mindset,” St. Marys head coach Leona Ho’ohuli  said. “As a team, everyone contributed. They let their defense create their offense. We also made good decisions with setting the pace of the game.”

Nicole Myers led Johnsonburg with 10 points.

CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP 39, DUBOIS 36

CLYMER, Pa. – Dayna DeSalve scored 13 points, but DuBois dropped a 39-36 decision to Conemaugh Township in the consolation game of the Penns Manor Tip-off Tournament Saturday.

Courtney Chandler added eight for the Lady Beavers.

UNION 54, FOREST AREA 22

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Behind 23 points from tournament MVP Lexey Shick, Union cruised to the title of the Forest Area Tip-off Tournament with a 54-22 win over host Forest Area Saturday night at East Forest.

Shaley Shick added 13 points for the Golden Damsels, while Kali Flick and Frankee Remmick each had eight points.

A-C VALLEY 40, SHARPSVILLE 37, OT

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – A-C Valley outscored Sharpsville 5-2 in overtime to get a 40-37 win at the West Middlesex Shootout Saturday.

Ellie Thompson paced the Lady Falcons with 16 points and five rebounds, while Olivia Boocks added seven points and five boards.

A-C Valley survived a third quarter that saw it get outscored 10-3 to get the win.  

EISENHOWER 44, PORT ALLEGANY 36

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Another fantastic performance from Autumn Buchsenschutz wasn’t enough for Port Allegany, as the Lady Gators fell 44-36 to Eisenhower at the Sheffield Sports Boosters Tip-off Classic Saturday.

Buchsenschutz, coming off a 20-point performance in a loss to Youngsville Friday, netted 25 points while hitting five 3-pointers Saturday.

MONITEAU 53, SHENANGO 46

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Alazia Greaves scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Moniteau to a 53-46 win over host Shenango in the Shenango Shootout Saturday night.

Kristina DeMatteis added 10 points for the Lady Warriors, who moved to 2-0 on the year.

KEYSTONE 54, MARS 47

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Amber Hess and Josselyn Geer combined to score 46 of Keystone’s 54 points in a 54-47 win over Mars in the championship game of the Slippery Rock Tip-off Tournament Saturday night.

Geer netted 24 points while adding seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks, while Hess had 22 points, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks for the 2-0 Lady Panthers.

Alyssa Beichner chipped in 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocks, and Taylor Geer had five rebounds and five blocks for Keystone.

NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD 48, NORTHERN POTTER 23

WESTFIELD, Pa. – Kalie Cowburn had 14 points, but Northern Potter dropped a 48-23 decison to North Penn-Mansfield in the championship game of the Cowanesque Valley Tournament Saturday.

GALETON 47, WILLIAMSON 33

TIOGA, Pa. – Makaya Shadle had 17 points and Cortney Parsell 15 to lead Galeton to the championship of the Williamson Tip-off Tournament with a 47-33 win over host Williamson Saturday.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 42, WESTMONT HILLTOP 23

MARION CENTER, Pa. – Behind 15 points from Hope Bridge, Punxsutawney topped Westmont Hilltop 42-23 in the consolation game of the Marion Center Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Leah Miller added eight points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Chucks, while Alli Lunger had seven points.

REDBANK VALLEY 34, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 30

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Becca Dougherty scored a game-high 15 points and added 10 rebounds, as Redbank Valley squeaked past DuBois Central Catholic, 34-30, in the championship game of the Brockway Tip-off Tournament Saturday.

Riley Assalone led DCC with 12 points, but the Lady Cardinals fell despite holding Slippery Rock recruit Brooke Hinderliter to just one field goal and 12 points.

CLARION 41, BROCKWAY 35

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Maya Thornton’s eight points and nine rebounds helped Clarion give first-year head coach Tracy Durish her first win, 41-35, with a victory over Brockway in the consolation game of the Brockway Tip-off Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Alexis Constantino had a team-high nine points for the Lady Cats, while Kelly and Wendy Beveridge each chipped in with seven. Wendy Beveridge also had seven rebounds with Kelly Beveridge contributing five steals.

Lead Lindemuth led Brockway with 16 points, while Kaitlyn Morelli added 12.

BELLWOOD-ANTIS 69, BRADFORD 37

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Bri Wells netted 16 points, but it wasn’t enough as Bradford dropped a 69-37 decision to Bellwood-Antis in the consolation game of the Hollidaysburg Tournament Saturday afternoon.

BROOKVILLE 59, NORTH CLARION 49

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Tournament MVP Hali Olson had 28 points and 14 rebounds, as Brookville downed North Clarion, 59-49, to win the Brookville Tip-off Tournament Saturday.

Elaina Powell added 11 points for the Lady Raiders, while Mackenzie Ganoe had eight.

Tori Oberlander had her second straight double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds for North Clarion, while Abbie Schmader had a team-best 22 points to go with seven boards.

CLEARFIELD 64, CLARION-LIMESTONE 24

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Emily Ryan scored a game-high 24 points, while Rachel Glenny added 16 to lead Clearfield to a 64-24 win over Clarion-Limestone in the consolation game of the Brookville TIp-off Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Ally Lindstrom chipped in 10 points and seven boards for the Lady Bison, while Paige Aaron led C-L with 11 points.

COMMODORE PERRY 57, CRANBERRY 27

HADLEY, Pa. – Erin Merryman scored eight points, but Cranberry dropped its season opener on the road, 57-27, to Commodore Perry.
