Eighteen District 9 Football Players to Compete in Friday’s Lezzer Lumber Classic in Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – Eighteen District 9 football players will be participating in the 32nd annual Lezzer Lumber Classic All-Star football game being held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Mansion Park Stadium in Altoona.

Seventeen of those players will be on the North Team with one on the South Team – all players must have completed their high-school eligibility.

With six players, Brockway is the heaviest represented District 9 team, while Curwensville has five players, Clearfield four and Clarion, DuBois and Punxsutawney one each.

Representing Brockway on the North Team will be Joey Varischetti, Anthony Zocco, Zach Tyler, Alex Verne, Mike Martino and Tony Isabella.

Curwensville’s North Team members include Jake Terry, Hunter Johnson, Quamone Newkirk, Ian Barrett and Seth Sloppy, while Clearfield’s North Team representatives are Christian Rumery, RJ Ward, Nate Lash and Travis Ogden.

Bo Miller of Clarion and Zach Sloan of DuBois round out District 9’s North Team representation.

Punxsutawney’s Larry Yeager is the lone South Team member from District 9.

The Lezzer Lumber gam, which is run by the Central Pennsylvania Football Coaches Association, includes players from select District 9 and District 6 schools.
