Lexey Shick had 21 points for Union Wednesday

UNION 64, CLARION-LIMESTONE 27

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Lexey Shick scored 21 points to go with eight steals, five rebounds and four assists, as Union raced past Clarion-Limestone 64-27 in Rimersburg Wednesday.

Frankee Remmick added 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Golden Damsels.

Josie Stitt’s eight points paced C-L.

REDBANK VALLEY 44, FOREST AREA 18

TIONESTA, Pa. – Behind 15 points from Brooke Hinderliter, Redbank Valley rolled past Forest Area, 44-18, in KSAC Crossover play Wednesday night at West Forest.

Lexi Holt added nine points with Macy King chipping in six for the Lady Bulldogs, who led 15-4 at the end of the first quarter and 21-7 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Fires 20-4 in the third quarter.

Morgan Silvis and Emma Cussins paced Forest Area with six points each.

KEYSTONE 56, CRANBERRY 39

KNOX, Pa. – Taylor Geer recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds while adding six steals, three assists and two blocks to lead Keystone to a 56-39 win over visiting Cranberry in KSAC Crossover play Wednesday.

Geer teamed up with Amber Hess to score all 21 of Keystone’s first-quarter points helping the Lady Panthers to a 21-11 lead at the end of one. Geer had 10 points in the quarter, and Hess scored all 11 of her tallies in the first eight minutes. Hess added six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.

Keystone, which also got 11 points, eight rebounds, six steals, five assists and three blocks from Josselin Geer, extended the lead to 43-17 at halftime.

Malliah Schreck led Cranberry with 11 points with Erin Merryman adding 10.  

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 48, KANE 36

KANE, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic built a 17-point halftime lead on its way to a 48-36 win at Kane in non-conference action Wednesday.

The Lady Cardinals led 24-7 at the break.

Jordy Frank led DCC with 13 points with Riley Assalone adding 10. Eight different Lady Cardinals scored.

Trinity Clark paced Kane with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Ella Marconi added eight points and 10 boards for the Lady Wolves.  

ST. MARYS 52, DUBOIS 35

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Bekka Bauer, Michelle Bauer and Rachel Bauer combined to score 32 points to lead St. Marys to a 52-35 win over visiting DuBois in D9 League action Wednesday.

Bekka had 12 points, Michelle 11 and Rachel nine. Kaitlyn Barackman added eight for the Lady Dutch, who led 28-16 at the half, and Rachelle Armanini chipped in seven.

Taylor Uplinger led DuBois with nine points with Dayna DeSalve and Laura Fatula each adding eight.  

PUNXSUTAWNEY 55, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 48

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Punxsutawney outscored Elk County Catholic 11-4 in overtime to claim a 55-48 road D9 League victory Wednesday night at the Aaron Straub Gymnasium at ECC.

The Lady Crusaders had rallied from a six-point deficit, 35-29, going to the fourth quarter to force overtime tied at 44 thanks to an eight-point fourth quarter from Reilly Herzing, who finished with a game-high 16 points.

But in overtime, Morgan Vanleer and Alli Lunger each scored four points to help the Lady Chucks get the win.

Leah Miller led Punxsy with 13 points with Lunger adding 12 tallies, Hope Bridge eight and Vanleer seven.   

Mackenzie Gahr had a double-double for ECC with 11 points and 10 rebounds while also picking up five steals. Cassidy Cunningham chipped in with nine points.  

MONITEAU 47, CLARION 22

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Alazia Greaves scored 18 points to lead Moniteau to a 47-22 win over visiting Clarion in KSAC Crossover action Wednesday.

Greaves netted 14 of her points before halftime helping the Lady Warriors gain a 27-12 lead at the intermission.

Kristina DeMatteis added 14 points for Moniteau with Sara Hull chipping in four points and 12 rebounds and Emma Bair five points and six blocked shots.

Anna Reed led Clarion with seven points.

KARNS CITY 63, NORTH CLARION 55

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Thanks to a career-high 33 points from sophomore Emily Hegedus, Karns City overcame the early loss of leading scorer LeeAnn Gibson to an injury to hold off North Clarion, 63-55, in KSAC Crossover action Wednesday night at Karns City.

Gibson, District 9’s leading scorer at 21.3 points per game, left the game early in the first quarter and didn’t return.

In her absence, Hegedus was huge connecting on 11 baskets, including a pair of 3-pointers, and going 9 of 13 from the free-throw line. She scored 14 of Karns City 20 first-quarter points helping the Lady Gremlins to a 20-14 lead at the end of one then scored 10 more in the third quarter and went 5 of 6 from the line in the fourth quarter helping the Lady Gremlins shoot 10 of 14 from the line in the final eight minutes.

Mackenzie Craig added 14 points for KC, including 12 before halftime, while Brooke Moore had eight.  

Karns City led by just two, 34-32, at halftime but outscored North Clarion 29-23 in the second half.

Tori Obenrader led the She-Wolves with 23 points and 19 rebounds. Abbie Schmader added 13 points and Cassie Wagner 12.

A-C VALLEY 68, VENANGO CATHOLIC 36  

FOXBURG, Pa. – Morgan Cratty and Olivia Boocks each scored 17 points to lead A-C Valley to a 68-36 win over visiting Venango Catholic in KSAC Crossover action Wednesday.

Ellie Thompson also reached double figures for the Lady Falcons with 14 points and added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Boocks chipped in five rebounds, three assists and three steals.  

Ava Homan led Venango Catholic with 13 points with Ashley Finch adding seven.

JOHNSONBURG 33, CURWENSVILLE 17

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Cassidy King’s double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds to go with three steals helped visiting Johnsonburg top Curwensville, 33-17, in non-conference action Wednesday.

Nicole Myers added eight points for the Ramettes, while Ashton Watts had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Shauna Guy led Curwensville with six points.

BROOKVILLE 51, BROCKWAY 43

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – In their second meeting in a week on the same floor, it was the Brookville Lady Raiders beating Brockway again in a 51-43 non-conference victory.

Brookville jumped out to a 20-7 lead three minutes into the second quarter and never trailed with Brockway getting as close as five on two occasions.

MacKenzie Ganoe scored a season-high 14 points to lead Brookville. Brooke Shattenberg scored 12 points with nine rebounds and Hali Olson finished with 10 points.

Brockway got 21 points from Leah Lindemuth. Kaitlyn Morelli scored eight points.

MERCYHURST PREP 45, BRADFORD 21

BRADFORD, Pa. – Emily Shopene scored 14 points to lead Mercyhurst Prep to a 45-21 non-conference road win at Bradford Wednesday.

Bri Wells led the Lady Owls with seven points.
