BROCKWAY, Pa. – Winning nine of the 14 bouts wrestled including five by falls, Brockway defeated visiting Redbank Valley, 43-25, Tuesday night.
The Rovers got pins from Ryan Carlson at 120 pounds, Santino Inzana at 132 pounds, Troy O’Brien at 138 pounds, Cody McClintick at 160 pounds and Michael Martino at 182 pounds.
Brockway also got a major decision from Garrett McClintick at 170 pounds and decisions from Mitchell Overbeck at 113 pounds, Dustin Jamison at 145 pounds and Mark Latuska at 220 pounds.
Redbank Valley recorded a pair of falls of its own with Curtis Mohney picking up a pin at 152 pounds and Brylee Shumaker doing the same at heavyweight.
The Bulldogs also got a forfeit win at 106 pounds from Brayden Altobelli, a major decision from Devin Bowser at 195 pounds and a decision from Tanner Altobelli at 126 pounds.
Carlson pinned Dawson Wilson at 1:57 of the 120-pound match, Inzana pinned Scott Drenning at 2:18 of the 132-pound bout, O’Brien took John Tibbs to the mat at 1:26 of the 138-pound match, Cody McClintick pinned Devin Schimp at the 1:31-point of the 160-pound match and Martino fell Logan Minich at 5:12 of the 182-pound event.
Meanwhile, Overbeck won a 4-3 decision over Hunter Martz at 113 pounds, Jamison took home a 6-4 decision against Jake Hooper at 145 pounds and Latuska got a takedown in overtime for a sudden victory 8-6 win over Pat Crawford at 220 pounds. Garret McClintick had little trouble with Scott Toth getting a 10-0 major decision at 170 pounds.
Mohney’s pin for Redbank came just 30 seconds into his 152-pound matchup with Bryce Grecco, while Shumaker pinned Joey Varischetti at 1:42 of the heavyweight bout.
Bowser recorded a 10-0 major decision over Pierce Yahner at 195 pounds, and Tanner Altobelli squeezed past Mason Lindenmuth, 5-3, at 126 pounds.
