KARNS CITY 46, NORTH CLARION 31

CLARION, Pa. – Emily Hegedus and LeeAnn Gibson each scored 15 points, as Karns City claimed its third consecutive KSAC Title with a 46-31 win over North Clarion Friday night at Clarion University’s Tippin Gym.

The Lady Gremlins (21-2) built, who trailed just once, 4-3, built a 26-12 halftime lead.

North Clarion (20-3), which was plagued by 22 turnovers that led to 24 Karns CIty points, got 13 points and eight rebounds from Abbie Schmader and eight points and 15 boards from Tori Obenrader.

Karns City had 15 steals with LeeAnn Gibson recording seven of them to go with six rebounds and three assists. Alyssa Gibson added five steals and seven assist to go with three points.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 37, JOHNSONBURG 27

DUBOIS, Pa. – The cardiac Lady Cardinals of DuBois Central Catholic were at it again Friday night overcoming a four-point deficit heading to the fourth quarter to pull out a 37-27 win over Johnsonburg in the AML Semifinals in DuBois.

DCC, which scored all but three of its points in the second and fourth quarters, was down 22-18 going to the fourth quarter before outscoring the Ramettes 19-5 in the frame thanks to eight points from Riley Assalone and six from Macey Hanes with Hanes scoring all six of her points in the quarter and all six from the foul line.

Assalone finished with a game-high 17 points for DCC (15-8).

Nicole Myers led Johnsonburg (12-11), which led 9-1 at the end of the first quarter but trailed 16-13 at halftime, with 12 points.  

DCC will take on Kane in the AML Title Game at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Marys High School.

KANE 44, RIDGWAY 20

KANE, Pa. – Trinity Clark scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help Kane move into the AML Championship game with a 44-20 win over Ridgway in the semifinals Friday night in Kane.

Ella Marconi added 12 points, 17 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Lady Wolves (15-8), while Rachel Morgan chipped in seven points and 10 rebounds.

Jessica Kifer had seven points to lead Ridgway (9-14), whose season comes to a close, while Emily Fullem added six tallies.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 47, BRADFORD 41

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Hope Bridge led a balanced effort by Punxsutawney with 13 points, as the Lady Chucks beat visiting Bradford, 47-41, in the regular-season and D9 League finale for both teams Friday.

Morgan Vanleer added nine points for Punxsy (18-4 overall, 10-0 D9 League) with Leah Miller chipping in eight.

Bri Wells scored a game-high 16 points for Bradford (10-12, 5-5).
