HARRISBURG, Pa. – Seven District 9 football players were named Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State in Class 2A and 4A Tuesday.

The haul brings the total number of District 9 PA Football Writer All-State players to 17 after 10 were named in Class 1A and 3A Monday.
District 9 champion Kane led the way for D9 Tuesday with three All-State winners with junior wide receiver Ray Maze, senior offensive lineman Keaton Rounsville and senior defensive back Davis Gardner all being honored on the Class 2A squad. Rounsville was named The Rehab Centre District 9 Offensive Lineman of the Year Sunday.
Joining those three on the 2A team was Brockway specialist Jarrett Esposito, a senior.
Three District 9 players were also honored on the Class 4A squad including Clearfield senior defensive back Ryan Lezzer, Clearfield senior linebacker Matt Collins and DuBois junior wide receiver Kyle Hopson.
Collins earned his second The Rehab Centre District 9 Defensive Player of the Year award Sunday, while Hopson was named The Rehab Centre District 9 Offensive Player of the Year Sunday.
In addition to the 2A and 4A teams, a 6A team was also named Tuesday.
Player of the Year awards went to Steel Valley’s DeWayne Murray (2A), Erie Cathedral Prep’s Joe Mischler (4A) and St. Joseph’s Prep’s D’Andre Swift (6A).
The Coach of the Year honors Tuesday went to Steel Valley’s Rod Steele (2A), Erie Cathedral Prep’s Mike Mischler (4A) and St. Joseph’s Prep’s Gabe Infante (6A).
