ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 56, BRADFORD 30
BRADFORD, Pa. – It’s not often that the Elk County Catholic basketball program does something it has never done before.
But the Crusaders etched another chapter in their storied history completing back-to-back unbeaten regular seasons for the first time in program history with a 56-30 win at Bradford in D9 League action.
Gabe Krause led a typical ECC balanced attack with 18 points with Ryan Newton and Nate DaCanal adding 14 points each.
Tyler Gigliotti paced Bradford with six points.
KANE 51, CRANBERRY 32
KANE, Pa. – Andrew Bucheit led a three-some of Kane players in double digits with 18 points, as the Wolves knocked off visiting Cranberry, 51-32.
Davis Gardner added 12 points for Kane with Chad Greville chipping in 11 points and seven steals.
The win secures the top seed in the District 9 Class 3A playoffs for Kane, who won the 2A title a year ago.
Andrew Gunn paced Cranberry with 13 points.
GALETON 60, NORTHERN POTTER 50
ULYSSES, Pa. – Behind 20 points from Evan Brooks visiting Galeton pulled away from Northern Potter in the second half for a 60-50 road North Tier League victory.
The Tigers led by two, 26-24, at halftime but expanded the lead to nine, 41-32, going to the fourth quarter.
Joel Griffin added 13 points for Galeton with Isiah Shuemaker chipping in 12.
Tucker Kosa had a game-high 23 points for Northern Potter, and Blake Jeffer added 15 for the Panthers.
