PUNXSUTAWNEY 65, BROOKVILLE 30

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Punxsutawney captured its second straight D9 League championship with a 65-30 win over visiting Brookville.

Leah Miller led the Lady Chucks, who have won 21 straight league games dating back to 2015, with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Kate Horner added 19 points and Morgan Vanleer 11.

Laken Hergert paced Brookville with five tallies.

MONITEAU 68, UNION 42

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Kristina DeMatteis scored 28 points, hauled down 11 rebounds, came away with seven steals and dished out five assists to help Moniteau to its first KSAC South title since 2010 with a 68-42 win at Union.

Alazia Greaves added 11 points for the Lady Warriors with Emma Bair chipping in eight points and nine rebounds.

Lexey Shick’s 18 points led Union.

BRADFORD 55, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 46

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Elk County Catholic’ late-season swoon continued, as Bradford got a combined 32 points from Bri Wells and Brinya Moffett to send the Lady Crusaders to their five loss in seven games, 55-46, in St. Marys.

Wells led the Lady Owls, who picked up their third win of the year but their second in four games, with 17 points. Moffett added 15 and Erica Marshall chipped in 10.

Bradford trailed 20-19 at halftime but outscored ECC 21-11 in the third quarter.

Reilly Herzing paced the Lady Crusaders with 20 points with Josie Smith chipping in 15.

The loss could drop ECC to either the fifth or sixth seed in the upcoming D9 Class 1A playoffs depending on the results of the A-C Valley vs. Keystone and Otto-Eldred vs. Cameron County games Wednesday.

CAMERON COUNTY 72, OSWAYO VALLEY 33

EMPORIUM, Pa. – On Senior Night, senior Madi Guisto led a foursome of Cameron County players in double digits, as the Lady Raiders dispatched visiting Oswayo Valley, 72-33, in North Tier League play.

Amily Schatz added 12 points for Cameron with Madison Harrier chipping in 11 and Alyvia McKimm 10.

Shayla Bickel scored 23 of Oswayo Valley’s 33 points.

PORT ALLEGANY 56, SMETHPORT 52

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Cailey Barnett and Autumn Buchsenschutz combined to score 12 fourth-quarter points, as visiting Port Allegany rallied past Smethport, 56-52, in North Tier League action.

The Lady Gators trailed by one, 37-36, going to the fourth after being down three, 21-18, at halftime before Barnett, who had a team-high 22 points, hit a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers and Buchsenschutz, whose all-around game including eight points, nine rebounds, seven assists and seven steals, added a basketball and four free throws.

Bri Roys chipped in 11 points for Port with Erin Stauffer adding 10 points and Hannah Lathrop 12 rebounds.

Abbey Woodard led all scorers with 27 points for Smethport.

OTTO-ELDRED 61, AUSTIN 21

AUSTIN, Pa. – All 12 Otto-Eldred players who dressed scored, as the visiting Lady Terrors Mercy Ruled Austin, 61-21, in North Tier League action.

Camryn Thomas’ eight points and nine rebounds paced Otto with Tiffany Bair also scoring eight points and Britney Greeley chipping in five points and six steals.

Jordan Brewer had 13 points for Austin.

GALETON 52, NORTHERN POTTER 45

GALETON, Pa. – A 17-8 third-quarter advantage helped Galeton knock off Northern Potter, 52-45, in North Tier League play at Galeton.

Makaya Shadle led the Lady Tigers with 21 points with Cortney Parsell adding 13.

Kali Cowburn paced Northern Potter with 18 points with Gracie Hamilton chipping in 12.

HICKORY 64, CURWENSVILLE 42

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Jillen Greenburg netted 15 points to lead Hickory to a 64-42 win over visiting Curwensville.

Jess White chipped in 12 points for the victors with Marissa Dejulia adding 10.

Madison Weber paced Curwensville with 19 points and Hannah Dixon contributed 17.
