DUBOIS 41, BROCKWAY 15
BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Ashley Hallowell had 12 points and 24 rebounds to lift DuBois to a 41-15 win over Brockway in the first round of the Brookville Christmas Tournament.
Sarah Snyder added eight points, all in the first quarter, for the Lady Beavers, while Chelsea DeSalve also had eight tallies.
Brockway, which shot just 7 of 58 from the floor, got a team-best eight points from Leah Lindemuth.
DuBois will face Brookville in the title game Thursday with Brockway taking on DCC in the consolation contest.
BROOKVILLE 48, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 33
BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Two long runs helped Brookville pull away with a 48-33 win over DuBois Central Catholic in the first round of the Brookville Tournament.
The Lady Raiders used a 16-0 run in the first half to take the lead for good and after DCC climbed back to within 22-18 late in the second quarter, Brookville responded with a 22-4 stretch that gave it its biggest lead at 44-22 after three quarters.
Morgan Johnson was the only player to score in double figures for either team, leading Brookville with 13 points. Madison Johnson finished with nine points.
Alyssa Bittner led DCC with nine points and eight rebounds.
Brookville will take on DuBois in Thursday’s championship game with DCC facing Brockway.
CLARION 62, EISENHOWER 34
KANE, Pa. – Kait Constantino had 22 points and six assists to help Clarion knock off Eisenhower, 62-34, in the opening round of the Kane Christmas Tournament.
Wendy Beveridge added 17 points and five steals for the Lady Cats who also got 15 points for KK Girvin nd two points and nine rebounds from Ali Troese.
Emiley Wheeler scored 12 points for Eisenhower.
Clarion will face North Clarion in the title game Thursday with Eisenhower taking on Kane in the consolation contest.
NORTH CLARION 61, KANE 49
KANE, Pa. – Mackenzie Bauer netted a career-high 16 points to help North Clarion defeat host Kane, 61-49, in the opening round of the Kane Christmas Tournament.
Tori Obenrader added 19 points and nine rebounds for the She-Wolves who also got 10 points from Abby Gatesman and eight points apiece from Anny Schmader and Gabby Carll.
Ella Marconi netted a game-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds and eight blocked shots for Kane. Trinity Clark chipped in 14 points, seven rebounds and four blocks with Rachael Morgan adding 10 rebounds and two points and Hannah Buhl six points, on a pair of 3-pointers, and five assists.
North Clarion will face Clarion in the title game Thursday with Kane taking on Eisenhower in the consolation contest.
PUNXSUTAWNEY 53, MONITEAU 30
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Leah Miller had 15 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots to lift Punxsutawney to a 53-30 win over visiting Moniteau in the opening round of the Carl Truance Holiday Tournament at Punxsutawney.
Kate Horner had a game-high 19 points to go with six steals for the Lady Chucks, while Sarah Weaver added nine points, five assists and four steals.
Emma Bair had a strong game for Moniteau with eight points, 15 rebounds and six blocked shots.
Izzy Bair led the Lady Warriors with 10 tallies.
Punxsutawney will face Hazelton in the title game Thursday with Moniteau taking on Marion Center in the consolation contest.
A-C VALLEY 62, CLARION-LIMESTONE 21
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Ellie Thompson and Olivia Boocks combined for 37 points to help A-C Valley to a 62-21 win over Clarion-Limestone in the opening round of the Redbank Valley Christmas Tournament.
Thompson led all scorers with 21 points with Boocks adding 16.
Maddy Craig and Ashley Daugherty each had seven points for C-L.
A-C Valley will face Redbank Valley in the title game Thursday with C-L taking on Forest Area in the consolation contest.
REDBANK VALLEY 45, FOREST AREA 26
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Behind 12 points from Tara Hinderliter, Redbank Valley used a balanced scoring effort to knock off Forest Area, 45-26, in the opening round of the Redbank Valley Christmas Tournament.
Lauren Smith and Adrianna Shilling each added nine points for the Lady Bulldogs with Kelsie Elmer chipping in eight points.
Jasmine Ginnery led Forest Area with nine tallies and Makya Bellotti added seven.
Redbank Valley will play A-C Valley in the title game Thursday with Forest Area taking on C-L.
