DUBOIS, Pa. – A-C Valley, Karns City and Keystone took home District 9 Competitive Spirit Championships Saturday at DuBois High School.

A-C Valley captured the Small Division title, Karns City took the Medium Division Crown and Keystone won the Co-Ed Division Championship. Those three teams plus Elk County Catholic, Moniteau and DuBois all qualified for the state championships being held at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pa., Jan. 19 and Jan. 20.
A-C Valley scored a meet-best 77.8 points and beat out eight other schools for the Small School title. ECC was second (77.2 points) followed by Moniteau in third (72.7 points).
Karns City, which won for the second straight year, topped DuBois and Bradford for the Medium Division championship. The Lady Gremlins scored of 61 was the fifth-best overall and beat out DuBois, who was sixth overall and second in the Division with 55 points.
Keystone, meanwhile, which won its third straight Co-Ed Division title and its fourth in five years, had the fourth-best score with 65.3 and beat Punxsutawney for the title.
