Daughter of: Rick and Jan Troese
Sports Played: Volleyball, basketball, track & field
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Her brother Antonio played Basketball, Football, and was a member of the Track and Field team. Both of her parents participated in Track and Field in High School as well.
6. Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field.
2017-18 Highlights: She helped Clarion to a third-place finish in District 9 Class 1A volleyball and then helped the Lady Cats advance to the PIAA semifinals. In basketball, she averaged 4.1 points per game and scored a season-high 11 points vs. Union while adding 10 in a contest vs. Clarion. She was named to the Kane Tournament All-Tournament team. In track and field, she ran a leg on Clarion’s District 9-qualifying 4×800-meter relay team.
Post-High School Plans: She plans to attend college and hopes to play volleyball in college.
Q&A With Ali Troese
D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
AT: My favorite sport to participate in is volleyball because it’s such a team-oriented sport and I love being able to work hard with the girls on my team to achieve a common goal.
D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
AT: My favorite memory was making it to the state semifinals in volleyball!
D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
AT: I play high school sports because I love being active and competing.
D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
AT: My brother Antonio has definitely had the most impact on my athletic career because growing up watching him play he always gave 110 percent and was a great role model for me.
D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
AT: I first started out dancing when I was three, I didn’t necessarily like it right away but I grew to love it.
D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
AT: My favorite number is 10 which was my brother’s number.
D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
AT: I have two horses Sox and Dakota!
D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
AT: Selena Gomez because she was my favorite actress growing up and I’m still a fan.
D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
AT: iPhone, I like the layout better.
D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
AT: Snapchat because I like being able to talk to my friends.
D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
AT: My favorite part about high school is being with all my friends.
D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
AT: My least favorite part of high school is waking up early!
D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
AT: I wish you would’ve asked me what my favorite quote is which would be “If you want to be the best, you have to do things that other people aren’t willing to do” – Michael Phelps
