CLARION, Pa. – A spot in the District 9 Class 1A volleyball semifinals is at stake when seventh-seeded Otto-Eldred makes the trip to Clarion to take on the second-seeded Lady Cats at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with all the action airing on exploreRadio via exploreClarion.com and D9Sports.com
Airtime for the 6:30 p.m. match will be 6:20 p.m. from Clarion High School with Mike Kalinowski and Chris Rossetti on the call.
Otto-Eldred rallied to beat Coudersport 3-2 (18-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 15-9) in a match that saw the Lady Terrors drop the first two sets before rallying to win in the opening round of the playoffs Thursday in Duke Center. O-E is 13-6 on the year.
Clarion, which hasn’t played in 12 days since losing its final regular-season match of the year, 3-1, at State College for its first loss of the year, enters the postseason with a record of 13-1. The Lady Cats are the defending District 9 Class 1A champions.
The winner of this match plays in the semifinals Thursday, Oct. 31, vs. the winner of the DuBois Central Catholic at A-C Valley match. If Clarion wins, it will host the semifinal match. If Otto-Eldred wins, it will host the semifinals if DCC wins but will travel to A-C Valley if the Lady Falcons win.
