BROCKWAY, Pa. – Behind 29 points from Ciara Strickland, Curwensville picked up its second straight win while breaking Brockway’s three-game win streak with a 47-40 win at Brockway Friday.
Strickland, who has scored 79 points in her last three games, hit 10 shots including five 3-pointers and was a perfect 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.
Brockway (7-8, 3-4 AML South) led 25-23 at halftime before the Lady Tide (9-4, 3-3) outscored the Lady Rovers 11-6 in the third quarter to take a 34-31 lead.
Juli Esposito paced Brockway with 15 points.
The Lady Rovers actually made more shots (18 to 15) from the field than Curwensville, but the Lady Tide had five threes to none for Brockway and went 12 of 17 from the line compared to the Lady Rovers 4 of 12.

KANE 67, SHEFFIELD 23
KANE, Pa. – A 23-point first-quarter advantage helped Kane snap out of a two-game slide with a 67-23 win over visiting Sheffield Friday.
The Lady Wolves (8-8, 3-3 AML North) put up 25 first-quarter points and led 25-2 at the end of the quarter.
“It was a very good team win,” Kane head coach Dave Kiehl said. “It was good medicine for us. We put it all together tonight. Our defense lead to our transition offense. Our big girls did a great job on the boards. All 11 girls played well and played a lot. Nine different girls scored.”
Trinity Clark once again paced Kane with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Morgan added 12 points, five steals and five reboudns and Alaina Barner had what Kiehl described as her best game of the year with 13 points and five assists. Also, Rachel Morgan added nine rebounds and Sydney Dyne had eight points and five steals.
Sheffield dropped to 1-16 overall and 0-6 in the AML North.

GALETON, Pa. – Port Allegany rolled to its sixth straight victory with a 56-30 win at Galeton Friday night.
Led by a game-high 23 points from Somer Buchenschultz, the Lady Gators (15-1, 9-1) had three players reach double figures. Brooke Roys added 17 and Autumn Buchenschultz 10.
Cortney Parsell led Galeton (6-9. 3-7) with 10 points, but leading scorer Latascia Shadle didn’t score.
Port hit eight 3-pointers in the game led by five from Somer Buchenschultz and led 26-15 at halftime before outscoring Galeton 30-15 in the second half.

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore Brooke Shattenberg came off the bench to score 17 points and grab eight rebounds to lead the Brookville Lady Raiders to a 51-36 District 9 win over visiting St. Marys.
Hali Olson finished with seven points and 14 rebounds, and Elaina Powell scored eight points as the Lady Raiders improved to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the District 9 League.
Rachel Bauer scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for St. Marys (4-11, 1-5). Rachelle Armanini scored 13 points.
DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 54, RIDGWAY 42
DUBOIS, Pa. – Riley Assalone and Jordy Frank scored 16 and 12 points respectively to lead the No. 10 DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals to a 54-42 win over Ridgway.
DCC improved to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the AML-South.
Ridgway (4-12, 1-6) was led by Jessica Kifer’s 16 points.
REDBANK VALLEY 61, NORTH CLARION 47
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Brooke Hinderliter scorched the nets for 34 points to lead the Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs to a 61-47 win over visiting North Clarion.
The Lady Bulldogs led 30-24 at halftime before outscoring the She-Wolves, 19-11, in the third quarter to stretch their lead.
Kaelyn Gruver finished with nine points and seven rebounds.
For North Clarion, Abbie Schmader scored 17 points and Tori Obenrader finished with 16 points.
Redbank Valley is 13-3 and North Clarion is 8-7.
ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 48, JOHNSONBURG 28

ST. MARYS, Pa. – The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders jumped out to an 11-0
lead and never looked back as they defeated the Johnsonburg Ramettes 48-28
at Aaron Straub Gymnasium Friday in St. Marys in an Allegheny Mountain
League North contest.
Julia Sweeney connected on a three pointer to open the scoring, Reilly
Herzing add two short range jumpers and Macy Neureiter and Maddy Schneider
both chipped in a bucket to open an 11-0 lead. An offensive put back by
Ashley Imbrogno ended the Ramettes drought making it 11-2. The quarter would
end with the Lady Crusaders up 13-3.
Elk County would apply pressure to Johnsonburg in the second quarter and
outscore the Ramettes 14-8 to head into the locker room up 27-11 at the
intermission.
The Lady Crusaders would open their lead to as many as 22 in the second half
before settling on the 48-28 victory.
Leading the way for Elk County (16-0 , 9-0 AMLN) was Erin Petrosky with 10
points. Reilly Herzing added 8 tallies and both Macy Neureiter and Julia
Sweeney both finished the night with 7 points each.
For the Ramettes, Nicole Myers scored a game high 12 points. Brianna Quiggle
added 6 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. Ashley Imbrogno scored 5 points
and grabbed 6 boards. Taylor Wolfe also finished the night with 5 points.
Johnsonburg (5-11 , 4-5 AMLN) returns to action Monday night when they host
Kane in a crucial matchup that could determine the AML North number 2 spot
down the road. Kane already beat Johnsonburg earlier this season at home
41-18 and would hold the tiebreaker if they won the season series.
Elk County Catholic travels to Sheffield Monday night to take on the Lady
Wolverines.
Game notes: Elk County had 8 players record points on the night while
Johnsonburg only had 4 find the scoring column.The Ramettes were held to a
season low 19 rebounds.Johnsonburg hit 9 of 33 (29.3%) from the field.The
two teams combined to shoot just 8 free throws, all by the Ramettes.
