AUSTIN, Pa. – Behind 27 points from Nate Sestina, who missed nearly a quarter in foul trouble, Cameron County took home its second straight North Tier League title with a 57-54 win over Coudersport Friday night in Austin.
Two days after rolling past Coudy 67-39 in Coudersport to force the one-game playoff for the NTL title, Cameron County found itself in a dogfight with the Falcons, who won the first meeting of the season in Emporium, 55-52, Jan. 16.
Coudersport (18-4) led 11-7 at the end of the first quarter before a 15-2 second-quarter advantage put the Red Raiders (21-2) ahead 22-13 at halftime.
But with Sestina in foul trouble, Coudersport answered back closing within six, 37-31, at the end of the third quarter.
Darren Keglovits led the Falcons with 17 points, while Zach Layag added 15.
Keith Spehlaski chipped in 10 for Cameron County.
Both teams will move into the District 9 Class A playoffs with Cameron County most likely getting a No. 3 seed and Coudersport a No. 5 seed.
