D9 3A Track: Bradford boys, DuBois girls back on top

BROOKVILLE — After the Bradford boys and DuBois girls had their long team title streaks broken a year ago, both returned to the top of the hill after claiming titles Wednesday night at Brookville Area High School at the District 9 Class AAA Track and Field Championships.

After DuBois interrupted the Bradford boys’ streak of 15 straight titles a year ago, the Owls returned to the top by blowing out the field with 146 points, followed by DuBois (70), Punxsutawney (69), Clearfield (53) and St. Marys (34).

For the girls, DuBois had a six-year streak ended last year by Bradford before winning again this year. The Lady Beavers scored 122.75 points, ahead of Bradford (98), St. Marys (67), Clearfield (56) and Punxsutawney (29.25).

The James Manners Award for the highest point scorers at the meet went to Bradford freshman Ashton McGriff while DuBois junior Kevin Foley and Punxsutawney sophomore Ethan Riley shared the boys’ award.

No meet records were broken.
