April 11 Baseball Roundup: Brockway Gets Past Johnsonburg

BROCKWAY 4, JOHNSONBURG 2

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Zachary Foradori drove in a pair of runs to lead visiting Brockway to a 4-2 win over Johnsonburg.

Angelo Inzana and Tyler Serafini also drove in runs for the Rovers, who got a strong performance on the mound from Cameron Baka.

Baka went 6 ⅓ innings allowing two runs, both earned, on six hits and two walks and a hit batter while striking out four. He was removed from the game when he reached 100 pitches.

Hunter Antonuccio got the save getting both batters he faced.

Neil MacDonald was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Johnsonburg, while Turner Amacher also drove in a run.

Johnny Mitchell took the loss going two innings and allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits while striking out two.

MONITEAU 15, A-C VALLEY 0, 3 INNINGS

BUTLER, Pa. – Eight different Moniteau players drove in runs, as the Warriors rolled past visiting A-C Valley, 15-0, in three innings at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.

Lee DeMatteis had three RBIs while going 1-for-1, while Brian Kusner, Lake Pry, Andrew Dulya and Chance Nagy each had two RBIs. Josh Adamson chipped in a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Derek Brown got the win giving up one hit in three innings of work.

Izaya Seeker had A-C Valley’s lone hit.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 11, CLARION 1, 5 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Garret Prosper went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, and Jackson Frank hit a solo home run and scored three times to lead DuBois Central Catholic to an 11-1, five-inning win over visiting Clarion.

Michael Misiewicz added a pair of RBIs, and Tyler McIntosh was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Justin Miknis also scored twice.

Sterling Conner scored Clarion’s lone run, as the Bobcats managed just three hits off of DCC’s Thomas Grecco. Reed Anthony had the RBI.

Grecco went the distance throwing five innings and allowing one run. He walked three and struck out six.

Cam Craig took the loss allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out one in two innings of work.

CLEARFIELD 10, CURWENSVILLE 2

CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Clearfield used a six-run second inning on its way to a 10-2 win over visiting Curwensville.

Reese Wilson got the scoring started in the second with a two-run double that put the Bison up 3-2. Wilson was 1-for-2 with the two RBIs and a run scored.

Seth Bumbarger added a three-run home run in the fourth for Clearfield, while Zane Morgan was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Tommy Hazel added two hits and a sacrifice fly.

That was more than enough for Will Myers, who went 6-plus innings allowing two runs, both earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight. Wilson threw an inning striking out one.

Noah Von Gunden was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Curwensville, while Christian Bakaysa also drove in a run.

Bakaysa took the loss giving up seven runs, one earned, on six hits and two walks in 1 ⅔ innings of work.

ARMSTRONG 14, KARNS CITY 5

KITTANNING, Pa. – Michael Lhote was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored, as Armstrong beat visiting Karns City, 14-5.

Derek Grafton added four hits, four runs scored and two RBIs for the RiverHawks, while Dawson Porter was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Tyler Yough was 3-for-4 for Karns City, while Jacob King was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Colton Hutchison 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Nick Parisi got the win pitching four innings allowing five runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out one.

Jimmy Thompson took the loss going three innings allowing six runs, all earned, on eight hits and a walk while striking out two.
