BOYS’ SOCCER

PORT ALLEGANY 4, PORTVILLE (N.Y.) 0

ALLEGANY, N.Y. – Behind a Howie Stuckey hat trick, Port Allegany topped Portville (N.Y.), 4-0, in the opening round of the Allegany-Limestone (N.Y.) Tournament Friday.

Shawn McNeil added a goal for the Gators while Jesse Wright had an assist. Ty Guilds had four saves to notch the shutout.

Tyler Robinson had six saves for Portville.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 7, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Behind four Isaac Wortman goals, Elk County Catholic defeated DuBois Central Catholic, 7-0.

Jacob Koss added a pair of goals for the Crusaders with John Tettis also scoring.

WILLIAMSON 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0

GALETON, Pa. – Sam Cummings scored twice to lead Williamson to a 3-0 win over Northern Potter on the opening day of the Galeton Tournament.

Trent Archey also scored for Williamson.

Patrick Lehman made 13 saves in net for Northern Potter.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, BROOKVILLE 2, 2 OVERTIMES

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Gina Carnovale’s second goal of the game, this one three minutes into the second overtime, lifted visiting Elk County Catholic to a 3-2 win over Brookville.

Madison McAninch had forced the overtime sessions with a goal that knotted the game at two for Brookville in the second half.

ECC twice led by a tally first after Carnovale made it 1-0 off an assist from Kara VanErden and then again when Lani Ceroni scored 25 minutes into the second half.

Brookville’s first goal came from Alayna Haight.

Mary Cerroni assisted on the game-winner.

VOLLEYBALL

JOHNSONBURG 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Johnsonburg started the season with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-11) win over visiting DuBois Central Catholic.

Bella Mangiantini had eight blocks and four kills for DCC, while Hanna Holdren added four kills and Shay Gulvas three aces to go with 15 digs. Maia Cogley ran the offense with 10 assists.

Johnsonburg stats weren’t available.
