GREENSBURG, Pa. – As a sophomore in high school in 2009, Nick Anderson helped Brockway to a District 9 title now Anderson is a champion again.
A senior at Pitt-Greensburg, Anderson is playing a role off the bench for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Bobcats averaging 2.3 points per game and a rebound and an assist per contest in just over seven minutes of action per game. The guard scored two points in Saturday’s AMCC Title Game win over Hilbert and also had a bucket in the Bobcats semifinal win over Penn State-Behrend, which was led by another Jefferson County native, Zane Hackett of Brookville.
Thanks to the AMCC title, the first for Pitt-Greenburg since 2000, Anderson will now get to add an NCAA Tounrament appearance to his resume. The Bobcats (19-9) will play Ohio Wesleyan in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Friday in Delaware, Ohio. If it wins that game, Pitt-Greensburg will take on either Lynchburg or Scranton Saturday (See interactive bracket).
