PHILADELPHIA – A pair of District 9 boys’ basketball players were named to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters All-State teams Tuesday.

Coudersport’s Owen Chambers is a first-team Class 2A selection with St. Marys’ Nathan Schneider earning third-team Class 4A honors.
Chambers, a junior, was the 2018 All American Awards & Engraving D9Sports.com District 9 Player of the Year after leading the Falcons to a second consecutive District 9 2A title. He was second in District 9 in scoring at 24.9 points per game while adding 5.1 rebounds. 2.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He also shot 52.6 percent from the field and hit 94 3-pointers while shooting 90.7 percent (97 of 107) from the free-throw line. Chambers enters his senior season with 1,439 career points.
Schneider was the leading scorer in District 9 in 2018 at 25.7 points per game while adding 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest. He was also a first-team All American Awards & Engraving D9Sports.com All-District choice.
