This is Mikesell’s first career PSAC weekly award and the first by an IUP women’s swimmer since former All-American Nicole Smith during the 2016-17 season.

Mikesell, who was also an IUP Athlete of the Week, posted three of the Crimson Hawks’ six individual event victories as IUP competed in a dual meet at Clarion Saturday afternoon. All three results were also good enough to be marked as PSAC qualifying times, as she took home top honors in the 100 freestyle (53.53), 200 freestyle (1:55.27) and the 100 butterfly (57.65). She also swam the third leg of the second place 200 medley relay squad.

For the season Mikesell has nine individual victories and has been part of three relay wins. In the PSAC’s latest list of top times for the season (Dec. 5), Mikesell ranks second in the 50 butterfly (27.02), 100 butterfly (55.02) and 200 butterfly (2:02.82), and third in the 100 freestyle (52.03) and the 200 IM (2:04.73).
